Can you help?

Today we're launching a Crowdfunder campaign to raise £1800 so we can purchase a timber trail for our fabulous pre-school children to use.

Please donate a little towards this project if you can afford it. It will make a huge difference to the children, and be so appreciated.

Outdoor play is a vital part of early childhood development.
Children join pre-school with varying levels of confidence, balance, coordination and physical resilience.

A moveable timber trail will provide a safe and engaging way for children to develop these essential skills while encouraging healthy, active play.

The trail will consist of a range of natural timber balancing, climbing, stepping and jumping elements that can be reconfigured into different layouts, providing endless opportunities for imaginative play, physical development and outdoor learning.

The flexibility of the equipment means challenges can be adapted to suit different ages, abilities and developmental stages, ensuring every child can participate and succeed.

The project will directly benefit all children attending Gamlingay Pre-school, as well as future cohorts for many years to come.

Children will enjoy a richer outdoor environment that supports their physical, emotional and social development.

The moveable timber trail will transform our outdoor space into an engaging adventure area where children can challenge themselves, build confidence and develop essential life skills through play.

🎓🎓PRE-SCHOOL GRADUATION 🎓🎓

Today we celebrated our wonderful children on their Graduation day. ✨

To our amazing children – we are so incredibly proud of each and every one of you. Watching you grow from shy little faces into confident, kind, curious and independent learners has been such a privilege. You have filled our days with laughter, imagination, friendship and unforgettable memories.

As you spread your wings and head off to school, remember to always believe in yourselves, be kind, keep asking questions and never stop learning. We know you are all going to achieve amazing things.

For me, today was especially emotional, as this is my last cohort before I leave the preschool. Saying goodbye to these wonderful children and their families is incredibly bittersweet. To our parents - Thank you for trusting us to be part of your children’s early years journey. I would also like to say a heartfelt thank you for all of the thoughtful gifts and beautiful cards. Your kindness, generosity and lovely words truly mean the world to me and I am so grateful for your support. It has truly been an honour to watch the children learn, grow and flourish.

To my amazing team, thank you for your endless support, dedication and love. Together we have created a wonderful setting with so many magical memories: I look forward to seeing Duckling class continue to flourish.

Hi, I’m Miss Tearne 🙂

I am the new Lead at Gamlingay Pre-school. I have been in Early years for the past 13 years. I have worked as part of the Children's and Families Safeguarding Team, a HLTA and a Deputy Nursery Manager and Pre School lead.

I am very passionate about Early Education and have completed a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood. It is a real privilege to be joining such a wonderful setting and team. I am looking forward to meeting the current and new Ducklings in September when I start.✨

When I’m not at work, I love to be outdoors and spending quality time with my family and very active 2 year old son.

🌻 Come and Help Make Our School Even More Beautiful! 🌻

We're opening our doors for a relaxed afternoon of community spirit, gardening, tidying, planting, and generally helping our school grounds look their very best.

Whether you're a parent, grandparent, family member, neighbour, former pupil, or simply someone who would like to support our school, we'd love to see you there!

⏰ Time: 13:00-16:00
📍 Location: Gamlingay Village Primary

There's no need to let us know – just come along for as much or as little time as you can spare. Every helping hand makes a difference!

We'll provide plenty of tea, coffee and cake to keep everyone going. ☕🍰 but please bring any gloves or small gardening tools you might find useful.

It's a great opportunity to meet other members of our school community, enjoy some fresh air, and help create an even more welcoming environment for our children.

This week in Ducklings we have been learning all about food and where it comes from! 🌱🐄

The children explored different types of foods and discovered which foods grow in the ground and which grow above the ground. We also talked about foods that come from animals and foods that come from plants, helping the children sort and group them together during our discussions and activities.

One of our favourite activities was our fruit and vegetable taste testing using fresh produce from our local farm shop. The children loved exploring the different colours, textures and tastes, with lots even trying new foods for the very first time! A BIG thank you to Woodview Farm Shop for your kind donation of fruit and vegetables. 🍓🥕🍉🫜🍑🫛🫜🍊🫑

We also had lots of fun learning about cows and how milk gets from the farm to our homes. The children had the chance to “milk a cow” using our glove udder filled with milk — there were lots of giggles during this activity! 🐄🥛

It has been a wonderful week full of hands-on learning, exploring, tasting and discovering where our food comes from. ✨

🐝✨ What a busy and exciting week we’ve had in Duckling Class! ✨🐝

This week we have been learning all about bees and why they are so important to our world. The children have loved discovering lots of fun facts about bees, exploring the life cycle of a bee, and creating some beautiful bee crafts 🖤💛

We also learnt all about honey and even got to try honey on toast! The children practised spreading independently and carefully cutting their own toast, helping to build confidence and independence 🍯🍞

Miss Harman bought in some of her very own Bees and their honeycomb, wearing her Beekeeping suit! 🐝 The children were fascinated, looking at home videos and photographs of her bees and learning more about how honey is made.

It has been a lovely week full of curiosity, learning, creativity, and lots of buzzing excitement! 🌼✨

There’s something truly magical about our time at Nature School 🌿

Each week, our little learners step away from the busy indoors and into the calm, open world around them. We slow down, look up, and take part in something we like to call cloud bathing - lying on our backs, watching the clouds drift by, spotting shapes, and simply being still. It’s in these quiet moments that imaginations grow and minds begin to relax.

And then… the joy! Exploring, giggles in the air, and rolling freely in the grass. Feeling the earth beneath them, the breeze on their faces, and the freedom to just be. These experiences aren’t just fun—they help build confidence, resilience, and a deep connection to the natural world.

At Nature School, we’re not just learning about nature—we’re learning through it. 💚
