The night Berlin burned. πŸ”₯πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ
On February 27, 1933, just weeks after Hi**er became Chancellor, the Reichstag buildingβ€”the symbol of German democracyβ€”was destroyed by arson. This single event gave the N***s the excuse they needed to crack down on their political opponents and consolidate power. It was a terrifying turning point in the rise of the dictatorship.
πŸ“š Year 11 History Question: Who was the young Dutch communist found near the scene and executed for starting the fire? (Drop your answers below! πŸ‘‡)

The day the nucleus was found. πŸ”¬β˜’οΈ
Before 1911, scientists thought atoms were like 'plum puddings' with negative electrons (plums) scattered inside a positive dough. Then Ernest Rutherford fired positive alpha particles at thin gold foil, expecting them to pass straight through.
His results were mind-blowing. Most passed through, but some bounced straight back! This proved that the atom is mostly empty space with a tiny, dense, positively charged nucleus in the center.
πŸ“š Year 9 Science Question: Which scientific model was disproven by Rutherford's scattering experiment? (Drop your answers below! πŸ‘‡)

When the ocean becomes the storm. 🌊πŸŒͺ️
While extreme winds are terrifying, a storm surge is often the most destructive part of a tropical cyclone (hurricane/typhoon). It's a rapid rise in sea level caused by strong winds pushing vast amounts of water towards the coast, capable of sweeping away entire communities in minutes.
πŸ“š Year 8 Geography Question: Besides powerful winds, what other major factor contributes to a storm surge? Is it a) High pressure, or b) Low pressure? (Drop your answers below! πŸ‘‡)

Midnight beneath Parliament. πŸ•―οΈπŸ’₯
On the night of 4th–5th November 1605, authorities searched the cellars under the House of Lords and discovered Guy Fawkes guarding 36 barrels of gunpowderβ€”enough to level the entire building.

Your immune system, up close. πŸ”¬πŸ¦
When pathogens invade, specialized white blood cells like this macrophage use phagocytosis to neutralize the threat. They physically engulf the invader, sealing it in a compartment called a phagosome.

When the ocean floor snaps. 🌊πŸ’₯
At destructive plate margins, dense oceanic crust sinks into the mantle beneath continental crust. Friction causes massive pressure to build until the continental plate violently snaps back up, displacing cubic miles of water instantly!
πŸ“š Year 9 Geography Question: Which sinks during subduction: the denser oceanic plate or the lighter continental plate? (Drop your answers below! πŸ‘‡)
