Meet Fern...

Fern is a young brown hare who loves racing through the wildflower meadows, listening to the skylarks overhead and exploring every hidden corner of her home.

But when a summer storm arrives, she discovers that slowing down and paying attention can make the biggest difference.

I can't wait to share her story with you very soon.

Why do I donate 25% of profits?

At Skye Moore Studio, I wanted my books to do more than tell stories. They’re inspired by the UK’s incredible wildlife and wild places, and I want to help protect them too.

That’s why 25% of profits from every book sold are donated to local conservation charities, with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust as our current charity of choice.

Every purchase helps support habitat restoration, wildlife protection, and a future where children grow up loving nature as much as I do.

Some places feel like they wandered straight out of a storybook!

Nestled around a gently flowing stream, Brighstone’s beautiful Dragon Tree is one of those magical spots where it’s easy to imagine fairies hiding among the roots or watching from the ferns.

The Isle of Wight is full of places that inspire my stories and this is definitely one of them! Have you visited the Dragon Tree?

Today marks 10 years of marriage. ❤️

Behind every Skye Moore Studio book is someone who is rarely mentioned, but whose work is part of every single page.

Scott edits every illustration, proof reads every manuscript, puts each book together and formats it ready for print. He built our entire website from scratch and continues to keep everything running behind the scenes. Alongside all of that, he's listened to countless story ideas, celebrated every little milestone, and encouraged me through every moment of self-doubt.

Skye Moore Studio simply wouldn't exist today without his talent, patience and unwavering support.

So today isn't about books...

It's about saying thank you to my favourite person, my biggest supporter, and my partner in every sense of the word.

This week is a wonderful reminder to look up. 🌒✨

Today brings a partial solar eclipse here in the UK, and we're also close to the peak of the Perseid meteor shower – one of my favourite annual sky watching events!

The eclipse will begin at around 6:10pm, reach its maximum at approximately 7:10pm, and finish just after 8pm (times vary slightly depending on where you are in the UK). If you're planning to watch the eclipse, remember to use proper solar viewing glasses and never look directly at the Sun.

Then once the sun's gone down, if the skies stay clear, wrap up warm, grab a blanket and see how many shooting stars you can spot together.

A perefct evening adventure for all the family!

The proof copy of Fern and the Summer Storm has arrived!

Today will be spent going through it with a fine tooth comb, ironing out all the little details and making sure everything is perfect. 😍

My 9 year old was the photographer for our evening walk on Brading Marsh yesterday. I think she did a great job! We saw coots, mallards, rooks, swallows and red squirrels.

Another batch of signed books is heading off to new homes today!

There's something really special about writing a child's name inside a book before carefully wrapping it up ready for its journey.

Every order supports my small independent business, and 25% of profits are donated to local conservation charities, helping to protect the wildlife that inspires these stories.
