Yoga Fun in Ducklings!

The Ducklings explored bug poses today! They stretched like a bee, stood on one leg like a Dragon fly and squatted like a beetle. They read the book 'Yoga Bugs' and the Ducklings picked what poses they wished to do.

This week we celebrated World Tiger Day here at Puddleducks!

Our children have enjoyed tiger themed stories, crafts and activities whilst discovering why it is important to protect tigers and their natural habitats.
By exploring the wonders of wildlife, we are encouraging curiosity, kindness and respect of the world around us.

The importance of books in the Early Years.

Reading with young children is one of the most valuable gifts we can give them. Books help develop language and communication skills, spark imagination, build concentration and encourage a lifelong love of learning.

Sharing stories together also supports emotional development, helping children understand feelings, relationships and the world around them. Whether it is a favourite bedtime story, a picture book, or a new adventure, every page turned is an opportunity to learn and grow.

At Puddleducks we love exploring books everyday through story time, independent time looking at books, in our provocations and conversations about the stories we share.

Over the last few days at Puddleducks we have been keeping cool with lots of water play!

At Puddleducks water play is much more than splashing and pouring, it is a wonderful learning experience that supports children's development in so many ways!

Through water play children develop fine motor skills, explore math concepts, learn problem solving skills through experimentation and practice sharing and turn-taking and working together with peers.

Most importantly water play encourages curiosity, creativity and a love of learning while having fun!

Today the Ducklings explored the 'Yoga Bug' book. They explored three different poses, the 'bee' 'dragonfly' and the 'ladybug'. The Ducklings enjoyed crawling into a ball and stretching their arms wide. They finished off the session by cooling down and bringing their hands together and bowing 'Namaste'🐞🐝.

The Importance of the environment in Early Years

At our nursery we believe that the environment plays a vital role in children's learning and development. A well-planned, nurturing space encourages curiosity, creativity, confidence and independence.

From inviting indoor learning areas to our outdoor spaces filled with opportunities for exploration, every aspect of our environment is designed to support children's growth. Children learn best when they feel safe, valued and inspired and the environment acts as the 'third teacher', helping to spark imagination and meaningful learning experiences.

Whether they are building, creating, investigating nature or sharing stories with friends, our children are encouraged to explore at their own pace and develop essential skills through play.

By providing rich, stimulating environments we help lay the foundations for a lifelong love of learning.
