Sooo, what a day filled with emotions!
Students who were predicted 3s or 4s achieving 6,7 and 8s 🎉🤩
Students who struggled to pass their mocks in year 10 and year 11 and were in panic mode about the real exams who managed to achieve incredible grades 🙏🏻
Students who passed by a mark and are over the moon that they can leave English behind them!
Students who didn't quite reach that grade 4 - it must be beyond disappointing to be in that position, but this feeling will pass. If anyone is wondering about appeals/remarks from exam boards and needs any advice, please reach out ❤️
Whatever has happened today, there are options.
I've celebrated with sugar & ice cream - I hope you've all celebrated in a similar way 🍨
Well done to everyone for getting through today 🎉

T'was the night before GCSE results day 2026...
Every year I feel like my belly is full of butterflies before results day. This year, despite allegedly saying I'd be taking on less students (🧐), I've actually had my biggest cohort of year 11 students ever! This means that the nerves are multiplied quite significantly 😂
Anyway, I know they are not my children, but I treat them all in the same way I would want someone to treat my daughter and that includes caring about their outcomes on a very invested level 🤞🏻🙏🏻
For all the parents and carers - breathe and eat a big bar of chocolate. If tomorrow really isn't ok, there are things that can be done and sorted. If anyone needs any advice - I am here.
For my students, every single one of you - you're amazing. I miss you all but I'm so proud of what you've all achieved despite that piece of paper tomorrow. You've all worked so hard and deserve for that to pay off. 🎉
Anyway, I'm just going to try my best to remember that I've got a fair few years until I go through this for my actual child 😂 and whatever happens tomorrow, it'll be fine in the end ❤️

I can't believe it's nearly the end of another academic year.
This year has been the best of my working life without a shadow of a doubt.
Do I miss the classroom? Absolutely not.
Do I miss having a headteacher who I work for? That's a resounding heck no.
Sometimes - for brief moments - I miss having colleagues. But my job keeps me so busy with my students that I don't feel lonely at all.
This year I've had time to get to know my students, to delve into their worlds and to make a genuine difference to them. That stopped in the classroom a few years ago thanks to how the government funds and treats state schools.
Today I spent an hour with a student wandering around a lake taking photos of a dragonfly. We sat, in peace. We talked about meaningful topics. I educated in different ways.
I can't wait for the next academic year.
But first, I need summer ☀️🎉
Enquiries for September tutoring fully open. Message me if you have any questions 😊

This week...
Always gets me 🥹❤️
I can't believe we are at that time of year again where I'm going to have to say goodbye to my fantastic year 11 & re-sit students.
I feel blessed every year to work with such amazing young people and this year is no different 😊✨
There is one final English exam this Friday. If anyone needs any last minute sessions - I am here! Ask and we shall sort 🙏🏻
It's also a really exciting time of year because I get to meet some new students and start the journey all over again!
If you're looking for GCSE English tutoring for next academic year - or over the summer holidays - please contact me. I will have limited spaces for September. 🥳
I'll also have availability for 11+ tutoring across the summer holidays too 😊
Throwback to yesterday when I got beasted at bowling by two children 👌🏻🫠

Well, who can actually believe 3 out of the 4 English GCSE papers are now a thing of the past?!
I'm officially on 'out of office' mode starting right now until the new term kicks in 🥳
I'll be taking tomorrow off as a personal day (first one of this academic year) and then half term will consist of a lil' punt up to Manchester to do my Senior Examiner Training (fancy, I know 🧐)
Anyway - you all know where I am if you need anything.
I'll have plenty of time to see my Year 11 students before Language Paper 2 on Friday 5th June. But if you need anything in the meantime, my email/WhatsApp/messenger is always open ❤️
I'm about to devour this absolutely fantastic looking billionaire shortbread and put my feet up. I would recommend all my students do something quite similar👌🏻 see you all really soon, enjoy half term & the sunshine ☀️

Well, this time next week the first English GCSE will be done. This year has gone in a blink 🤯
As always I will be so sad to say goodbye to my cohort of current year 11 students but I still have a few weeks left with them, thank goodness! 🎉
On that note, usually at GCSE season I work pretty much around the clock to fit in extra sessions or to move sessions to align with what a student needs.
If you want to rearrange sessions then please do drop me a message. I'll do whatever I can to fit everyone in!
If you need anything between sessions - as before - I am happy to mark essays, answer last minute sessions or set extra work 🥳
Let's go GCSEs 2026. I've had my mini beach break ready for the busiest season my my year 💪🏻

GCSE season is a marathon. 🏃🏻♀️🎽
Don't forget to remind those getting ready for this mammoth event that the most efficient and effective way to train for a marathon is with small, consistent runs. Those who train for marathons (and that's not me, I assure you 😂) don't run 26 miles every single day. They train shorter distances and then they build up their milage before the big run.
The reason they don't run 26 miles every day is because they would be exhausted before the main event. Physically & mentally: they would be done in making their big run feel much harder.
This is the same mindset to adopt with revision - at this point, year 11 brains everywhere are probably overloaded with information and struggling to retain everything. Then that sets off panic that they don't know anything. This then affects their sleep, eating, mood and nearly everything will be feeling that knock on effect.
Bit by bit. Day by day - don't use all your energy now. Train smart not hard and practice some small times of mindfulness every day. Paint a vase, if you will 😂🏺
I'm here if anyone needs anything during this time - just drop me a message 🙃🥳
