This week our main focus was oral hygiene, we explored our dentist set with some minty playdough. We spoke about good oral hygiene and why we brush our teeth. We all got a new toothbrush and toothpaste to take home too. We used real toothbrushes to paint and to ‘brush’ the shaving foam off of the teeth.
A little trip to see the animals at Porton Garden Aquatic and Pets
The rest of the week was filled with lovely spring and Easter activities! At the end of the week we visited Curious Cubs Childcare for an Easter party, the sun was shining and we all had the best morning 🐰 🐣

This week we covered the theme of Mother’s Day 🌹 🥰 we baked scones and cake, to put together an afternoon tea to send home for the special ladies in our lives. We also had an afternoon tea here to sample the goods 😋 we had been busy making lovely gifts too! The children really got stuck in with the baking and making, I was super proud! Then we took a trip to the garden centre, as mummy’s always love a garden centre! Our friends from Scullywags and Curious Cubs Childcare joined us too. Baskets of Play had lots of lovely ‘mummy’ themed activities, that was loved as always. Our play table this week was based around flowers, planting and mummy’s 👩🏽👩🏽‍🦰👩🏾‍🦱🧒

World book day week was absolutely jam packed, because what early years educator doesn’t absolutely love this week 😍🤪 we kicked the week off with our Monday Baskets of Play session! Lots of opportunities to explore story themes, such as the hungry caterpillar, the tiger who came to tea and the bear hunt. 🐻 🐛 mid week, we took a trip to the library to explore lots of lovely stories! 📕 We also explored our play table, set up with the theme of bear hunt. One of our little sunflowers favourite stories! We then went for a walk through the woods to find sticks to make our very own ‘stick man’ 🪵 (Sadie helped with the gluing) to finish off the week, we visited our friends over at Scullywags for tea with a tiger! Thank you for having us 😍 🐅 well done little sunflowers on your efforts with dressing up to celebrate 👏

After a hugely successful Baskets of Play session, which was dinosaur themed. We decided to scrap our planned theme! Lots of dinosaur themed fun was had instead 🦖 the children were so engaged. We explored dinosaur themed sensory bins and rescued the dinosaurs from frozen eggs 🥚 at our friends Scullywags. We finished the week off with a trip to the sensory room and a whizz round softplay!

In January we explored the theme of birds, we spoke about how the birds struggle in the winter and made them bird feeders. 🦅 We placed them all around the woods for our feathered friends! We also explored bird seed playdough and used our new bird stones to mark make. We rounded the week off with a trip to gymnastics 🤸🏽‍♀️
