Year 1 recently had a virtual visit from Rachel Bright and Jim Field who are the author and illustrator of books such as: ‘The Lion Inside’ and ‘The Gecko and the echo’.

The class listened carefully to a story read to them and practiced saying some of the sounds the animals in the books say. Jim Field instructed us how to draw Tula the turtle from the book ‘The turtle who turned the tide’.

There were lots of brilliant turtles drawn, which were full of detail.

Y5 have been discussing the importance of music in Christian worship. We discovered some worship is very modern and some traditional. We sang two different religious hymns and gave reasons for saying which we preferred.

In the end, we arranged ourselves into a 'continuum' ranging from those who agreed and those who disagreed with music important in worship.

Did the chance to pull faces influence the place on the continuum....perhaps more drama opportunities are needed in Year 5....
