Moss Valley Primary Academy

Year 2 have been busy exploring flora and fauna in their Art lessons! 🦋🐞

Using their observational drawing skills, the children have worked with a variety of media to study and recreate natural forms. Today, they used charcoal and oil pastels to create large-scale insect drawings, carefully considering symmetry, body parts and shape to build their designs.

They also explored texture, colour layering and blending techniques to create tone and depth. We are incredibly proud of their creativity and artistic progress! 🎨✨

💚🎶 Moss Valley Musicians Perform at The Lowry! 🎶💚

This evening, our amazing musicians performed on the stage at The Lowry and completely blew us away with their confidence, talent, and beautiful singing. 🌟

Their performance was a true reflection of teamwork, dedication, and hard work, and we could not be prouder of every single one of them. ❤️

It was a magical show, and each and every child shone brightly on stage. ✨🎤

A huge thank you to all the staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this happen and who attended today. We would also like to thank all the parents and families for their support and encouragement. 👏

Special thanks to MAPAS for their commitment to inspiring primary-aged children to learn and play musical instruments, creating opportunities for young musicians to develop their talents and shine on stage. 🎼🎺🎻🥁

💚🐾 We’ve had a wonderful new addition to school over the last two Fridays... Mrs Boden has brought a very special visitor into Year 3 - Ralphie Boden! 🐶✨

The children were incredibly excited to meet him, and the anticipation of his visits created such a lovely buzz around the classroom throughout the week. We were so proud of how calm, gentle, and caring the children were during their time with Ralphie. 💙

Ralphie helped to create a wonderfully calm learning environment, and the children loved taking turns to walk him and watching him show off some of his training tricks! 🦮⭐ He is certainly very tired now at the end of each Friday he is in, but in the best possible way. 💤🐾

Each of Ralphie’s visits has been a fantastic example of kindness, empathy, and responsibility from all of the children. Thank you, Year 3, for being so thoughtful and gentle with our special visitor! 😊💚

Miss Pope, we cannot thank you enough for all that you do each day for Moss Valley. Since returning, you have been happy to support in all areas of school and always give 100% wherever you are working. Your kindness, care and adaptability shine through in everything you do, and you make all the children you work with feel special, safe and valued. 🥰

The fact that you rearranged an appointment to be there for the Reading Audit demonstrates your commitment to the success of our school, and we are incredibly grateful for this. 📚✨

☕🍰 What a fantastic coffee morning we had today!

These coffee mornings are getting bigger and better each time, and it was wonderful to see so many new faces joining us. 😊

A huge thank you to one of our mums for bringing a delicious cake 🍰 and to another for treating us to some fancy coffee ☕. Your kindness helped make the morning extra special.

Our Early Years children had a wonderful trip to the park for a magical storytelling walk through the woods! 🌳📚✨

This experience linked perfectly to last half term’s theme, Traditional Tales, as the children used their imaginations and enjoyed stories in a real-life woodland setting.

Along the way, the children explored their local environment and walked through the garden centre, where they observed a variety of beautiful flowers and plants. 🌸🌿 This tied in brilliantly with their Spring 2 theme, Living Things.

To finish our adventure, the children enjoyed a lovely picnic together in the park before developing their gross motor skills through climbing, balancing, running and playing on the equipment. 🧺🤸‍♀️🏃‍♂️

A fantastic day full of storytelling, exploration, learning and fun! 💚

It was far too warm for hot chocolate on Friday, so we swapped it for ice pops instead! 😎☀️ What a lovely sunny way to end the week.

These fabulous children have truly shone brightly this week, and we are so proud of each and every one of them. 🌟👏 Their hard work, kindness, and enthusiasm have been wonderful to see.

We hope everyone has a fantastic, sunny half-term break and enjoys some well-deserved rest and fun with family and friends. ☀️💚

🌟 VIP Lunch & Headteacher’s Table Celebration 🌟

Today, we celebrated our Headteacher Award recipients with a special VIP Lunch at a reserved table in the Moss Valley Restaurant. 🍽️⭐

These children have consistently demonstrated our school values through their hard work, kindness, resilience and positive attitudes. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved so far this year.

As some award winners were unable to attend, a few additional superstars were chosen at random to join the celebration. 🎉

Well done to all of our children – keep up the fantastic work! 🌟👏💚
