A little studio update 🫶

I’m slowly getting everything together for my move into a new studio, and it feels like the start of a really special new chapter for my work.

I’m trying not to rush any of it, just being present, trusting the process and letting things happen when they’re meant to.

I’ve got a feeling this next chapter is going to be the most authentic version of me as an artist yet, and I’m really looking forward to seeing where it takes me 🤍

More soon ✨

POV: it’s 34°C, you’ve got a concrete yard, two white patio chairs, a fan fighting for its life on an extension lead, a pint glass of ice water… and you’re rolling all your clothes up in full view of the neighbours. Luxury is a state of mind 😂☀️💨🧊

The illustrated journal pages that brought my therapist to tears 🥹

This sketch and journal entry came from trying to put words and images to that feeling of life slipping beyond my control. While everything around me seems to be moving with purpose, I'm doing my best to hold it all together, going round and round, waiting to be claimed by a sense of direction again.

Sharing for anyone who may be struggling to articulate this feeling lately so that you feel less alone 💖

June, you were a good one. ☀️

Concert nights with Lola Young and Lily Allen's West End Girl, beach trips for fish & chips, Pride celebrations, cocktails in the sunshine, and fully embracing World Cup season. Just the right mix of fun, fresh air, and making the most of every moment. 🌈🍸⚽️✨

What if the next 6 months weren't about self improvement? 🤔

What if they were about having more fun? 🤸🏼‍♀️

It seems like the internet is obsessed with optimisation, but some of the best parts of life happen when we're not trying to get anywhere.

If we never allow ourselves to live a little, where will we get our inspiration from?

After all, these productivity experts would probably call some of your best memories a wasted afternoon.

I'd rather collect more memories than efficiency points.

3 things I miss about my old corporate job (and yes, I said it 👀)

💸 A regular income. As someone who grew up on a council estate, there’s something deeply soothing about not having to worry about what money will land in your bank account each month.

⏰ The whole "work for yourself and set your own hours" thing? Lol. I work way more now than I ever did in corporate, and I’ve even taken on a part-time job while building my freelance career.

🧠 Not having to make 847 decisions a day. In corporate there are whole teams handling different parts of the business. When you’re self-employed, you are the team. CEO, marketing department, finance manager and admin assistant all rolled into one.

Despite this I still wouldn’t trade… but self-employment is definitely not the chilled, laptop-on-the-beach vibe social media sold us 😂

Sometimes the hardest part of taking the leap isn't jumping, it's letting go of the version of yourself that doesn't fit the next chapter ✨.

We have a habit of romanticising the past, remembering the highlights while conveniently forgetting the burnout, dissatisfaction, self doubt and why we brought about change in the first place.

My latest Substack article is about the importance of letting go, because sometimes holding onto who we were stops us fully embracing who we're becoming.

Link is in my bio if you'd like to read it.

Have you ever felt like you were holding onto an old version of yourself? I'd love to hear your thoughts below ❤️

✨ THIRTY-THRIVING ✨

A slightly belated birthday roundup after taking some time out to look after my fiancée following her endometriosis surgery.

35 was celebrated with good food, a spa day, a little pampering, and lots of time with the people I love most. Feeling incredibly grateful, very lucky, and excited for this next chapter. 💛

Happy 80th Birthday Cher 🎂

The original icon who proved that reinvention is an art form and confidence is a lifestyle. 80 years of attitude, resilience, and doing it exactly her way 💁🏻‍♀️.
