‘The Irony of Loneliness’
University of Salford
BA Degree show 2026
Oil on canvas
This triptych pulls together all of my work over the past 3 years of my degree, researching figuration, memory and female subjectivity to inform my practice.
‘The Irony of Loneliness’ comes from a poem by stating that we all feel loneliness simultaneously. This feeling of being alone is shared and is what brings us together. These pieces aim to present the way that we all experience feelings of uncertainty and loneliness in unison, creating shared memories that are presented through the paintings.

‘Slowly fading’
1.5m x 0.6m
Oil on canvas
Piece 1/3 for my degree show🌟
Due to the nature of the oil paint mixed with water, this piece will fade in certain areas over time. I think this represents the subconscious well, areas and memories fading over time with some parts staying strong.
