Major life change post.............
Last year I felt I wasn’t in the right place. Lots of personal compromises in the past 10 years since doing my LLB. Completely for the right reasons; family, being completely present with my three gorgeous children, supporting hubbie in his business ventures.....a law career for me back then just didn’t feel like the right time. Loved studying my LLB and smashed it, graduating with a 1st, but committing to a career was just too much without compromising my whole World.
I can never sit still and be a traditional ‘stay at home’ mum and wife. Complete respect for those that do. Helped hubbie with his business and then needed more for me - like many women always feel and never do!
As you guys know creative hobbies and lifestyle has always been a part of me since I was small and I thought transitioning that in to my own sewing business was the answer to fill that void of ambition, challenge and achievement that yearns inside, whilst helping and connecting with people.
It worked! I was great at running my business, it took off instantly BUT my soul purpose wasn’t satisfied. I think I always knew I was still compromising. Quieting my passion - a career in law. Also it stopped my creative drive and I lost my treasured hobbies along the way.
Last year I had already decided that 2020 was the year to resurrect my law path and slowly wind down my business. Then COVID-19 hit and bam, stopped my business in its tracks and confirmed everything I already knew. Every cloud as they say!
After months of reflection, scrub and gown making for the NHS, gin drinking and eating to excess in lockdown, I finally gave my mind and body a pause to reflect and decided on my next move.
Fast forward to now - with so much support from my family and beyond I’m beginning my law journey and change in career path!
Starting this month, studying full time, my masters in law/International Human Rights. An area that has been a huge interest in my life since I was young (the young girl who dreamed of becoming a human rights barrister may finally get her way!)
So excited and so ready for this with creativity always as part of my life! 💪🏻
