🎭 IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN MATILDA JR! 🎭

Our Matilda JR. journey has officially begun at Pixie Studios… and what a brilliant start we’ve had! 💚

But if your child has been thinking about joining us and you thought you’d missed your chance - you haven’t!

We still have space for children aged 4–14 to come along for a 3-week trial, meet the cast, get a feel for our classes and experience what being part of a Pixie production is all about.

There’s no need to arrive as a polished performer. Some of our children have been performing for years, while others walk through our doors having never set foot on a stage before. We’re all about nurturing each child, building their confidence and helping them discover what they can do.

With our Wednesday Moondust Cast and Saturday Stardust Cast, there are two opportunities to be part of the magic ✨

So if you have a Matilda, Miss Honey, Trunchbull, Wormwood — or a brilliant ensemble performer — waiting to come out… now’s the time! 📚💫

✨ Our littlest stars are back! ✨

Little Pixies is a joyful introduction to musical theatre for children aged 4–6, filled with singing, dancing, acting, imagination and plenty of magic 🧚‍♀️

Each week, our Little Pixies build confidence, make friends and discover just how much fun performing can be - all in a warm, nurturing environment where every child has the chance to shine.

This year, they’ll also be joining our older students in our exciting production of Matilda JR at The Maltings Theatre! 🎭

🌙 Wednesdays, 4:00–5:00pm
St Stephen’s Church, St Albans

⭐ Saturdays, 9:00–10:00am
St Columba’s College, St Albans

Trial sessions are available for children who would like to come and experience the magic 💫

🎭 MATILDA JR. STARTS NEXT WEEK! 🎭

Does your child love to sing, dance, act and perform? This is the perfect time to come and discover Pixie Studios Theatre School! 💚

Next week we officially launch our brand-new production of Matilda JR. and we're inviting new children to join us for our special 3-Class Launch Package.

Over three exciting sessions, they'll:

🎶 Learn songs from the show
💃 Try out the choreography
🎭 Explore characters and scenes
🌟 Get to know the Pixie teachers and their new castmates
🎬 Finish with our Matilda casting session!

There's no pressure to already be a confident performer. Whether your child is the first one on stage or needs a little encouragement to find their feet, we're a small, friendly and nurturing theatre school where every child is known, valued and given their chance to shine 💫

And if they love it? They can officially join the cast and work towards performing Matilda JR. on stage in March! 🤩

✨ FIRST DAY BACK ✨

A big day in our house today! 🥹 My daughter started Reception and my son headed into Year 4… and I think I might have felt all the emotions more than they did! 😂

Being a mum myself is a huge part of how I run Pixie Studios. I know that the start of a new school year can feel exciting for some children, but for others, new classrooms, new teachers, new routines and new faces can all feel a little overwhelming.

And that's one of the reasons I'm so passionate about creating a different kind of environment at Pixies ✨

Of course we want children to learn to sing, dance and act and become brilliant little performers – but just as importantly, we want Pixies to be somewhere they feel known, supported and completely comfortable being themselves.

Some children will burst through the door ready to perform. Others might spend the first few weeks quietly finding their feet. Both are absolutely fine.

We get to know our children as individuals. We nurture them at their own pace, help them make new friends, encourage them to try things they didn't think they could do and celebrate those little moments of confidence along the way.

And before you know it, the child who once wouldn't leave your side is standing on a stage thinking, "Look what I can do." 🥹

🌿 OUT OF OFFICE 🌿

Pixie Studios Theatre School is taking a short Summer break (this was due to be posted last week, so clearly I’m already in relaxed mode..)

Not because the work stops being important, but because taking time to rest is just as important as working hard.

As teachers, we’re always giving our energy, creativity and hearts to the children we teach. Stepping away for a little while allows us to recharge, find fresh inspiration and come back with even more ideas, enthusiasm and magic for the term ahead.

It also gives me precious time to be simply Mum ❤️

To make memories with my own children, slow down a little, and remember exactly why I started Pixie Studios in the first place.

Because while I absolutely love what I do, the people I do it all for will always be waiting for me at home.

We’ll be back soon, refreshed, inspired and ready for another exciting chapter.

✨ MEET THE TEAM BEHIND THE PIXIE MAGIC! ✨

People often ask what makes Pixie Studios so special, and while we love our singing, dancing and acting... it's the people behind the scenes who truly make the difference 💚

This summer, we were incredibly lucky to have Miss Grace and Miss Cate join us for our Summer Theatre Camp.

🌟 Miss Grace has most recently starred as Elsa in Greenroom Productions' Frozen and will soon be taking to the stage as Scaramouche in St Albans Musical Theatre's production of We Will Rock You at the Alban Arena this November.

🌟 Miss Cate is currently touring the UK with Peppa Pig and has performed professionally in the West End and theatres across the country.

While we're so proud of their incredible performing careers, what makes them such a wonderful part of the Pixie team is their passion for inspiring children. Both Grace and Cate have extensive experience teaching and working with young performers, creating a fun, nurturing environment where every child feels encouraged to have a go, build confidence and simply enjoy performing.

At Pixie Studios Theatre School, we're passionate about giving children the opportunity to learn from talented industry professionals who not only love performing themselves but also love passing on that knowledge to the next generation.

We feel incredibly lucky to have such an amazing team helping our young performers dream big, fly high and shine on stage. ✨

SUMMER CAMP 2026 ☀️.. and we had the BEST time!

We sang our hearts out, danced until our legs ached, got creative with crafts, played plenty of games, made new friends and, most importantly, created lots of magical memories.

One of the things I love most about our theatre camps is watching children grow in confidence in such a short space of time.

Whether they're centre stage or joining in quietly from the side, every child is encouraged, celebrated and leaves with a smile.

Every day brings a brand new musical adventure, and we can't wait to see what the rest of the week has in store!
