Year 12 Biology students visited Devon last week for a fieldwork trip that included an evening bat walk, small mammal trapping, an assessment of the local snail population and studying crabs in the rock pools of Prawle.

The winners of STAHS Young Musician of the Year came together for a very special concert last week.

The annual recital, which took place at St Peter’s Church, included the individual category winners from Prep and Senior, including overall winner, Kendra in Year 12.

DT showcase exhibition

DT GCSE and A level students across all disciplines were able to share their work with friends and family during our showcase last week.

Five Year 5 girls confidently presented their Head Girl speeches this week. The successful candidate for 2026-27 will now be decided as the school casts its votes.

Plenty of House spirit was on display for our Y7-Y10 House Cricket and Tennis Tournament on Tuesday 🎾 🏏

Party at the Prep was fun for all the family on Saturday.

Organised by the Parents Association with support from the school, there was lots on offer, from mindful colouring to inflatable axe throwing, and from face painting to the unclimbable ladder!

On Tuesday our Y12 Psychology students visited for a fascinating ‘Brain Day’ hosted by renowned neuroscientist Dr Guy Sutton.

The day include talks about current neural research and a brain dissection, as well as discussion on how trauma can affect the brain in the long term.

Over half-term a group of Year 10 and Year 12 Art and DT students enjoyed an action-packed trip to New York.

During a fantastic week the tourists explored the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum and MOMA, as well as taking in sights including Central Park, the Statue of Liberty and Rockefeller Center.
