The Key Essentials - Piano Lessons Private Piano Teacher in London Colney I started to learn the piano when I was 6 and took lessons (and sat exams) until the age of 19.

I have always loved music, both classical and more popular genres. As well as playing the piano, I enjoy singing and have previously attended singing lessons in St Albans and Welwyn Garden City. I enjoy passing on my love of music to others. Music is a universal language which can be appreciated by all ages. I have a current valid DBS check.

The Proms are a great way of introducing young people to live music. They're held at the Royal Albert Hall and will run until 12th September this year. Initially only classical music was included but this has changed more recently. This year there's a 'Bond and Beyond' prom on 25th August and a Disney-themed prom on 31st August. Standing or "promming" tickets cost just £8.00.

Peter and the Wolf

The story of Peter and the Wolf, set to music by Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev, is an excellent way of introducing children to classical music. At the start of the story, they explain how each of the characters is represented by a different instrument. This helps youngsters to identify musical instruments in an orchestra. I really enjoyed listening to Peter and the Wolf when I was a child so this takes me back to my youth.
