Happycrew Childcare are hiring Nursery Practitioners in St Albans!

We are looking for permanent staff with some flexible hour roles available.

Level 3 Toddler Room Leader - 5 days per week
Level 3 Practitioners - 3, 4 and 5 days pw, also lunch cover 11-2pm

🌿 Every day at Forest School looks a little different.

We might be baking bread over the fire, hunting for minibeasts, building dens, making natural artwork, mixing mud recipes in the mud kitchen, creating bug hotels, balancing on logs, or exploring the woodland looking for signs of wildlife.

The children learn how to use tools safely, care for the environment around them, work together on projects, and develop confidence through trying new things. There are endless opportunities for imagination, adventure, and discovery.

Forest School gives children the freedom to explore, ask questions, take risks, and connect with nature in a way that's often difficult to recreate indoors.

And yes... sometimes the best part is simply splashing in a puddle!

Minibeasts are some of our favourite discoveries at Forest School. 🐌

From snails and ladybirds to spiders, woodlice and worms, these tiny creatures inspire big learning opportunities. As children search for and observe minibeasts in their natural habitats, they develop curiosity, communication skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Minibeast hunts encourage children to count, compare, problem-solve, ask questions, and learn how to care for living things. Best of all, they help children connect with nature through hands-on exploration and adventure.

Every minibeast we find opens the door to a new learning experience.

🚧 Our new Construction Pit is open! 🚧

The children have been busy building, digging, transporting, and creating in our exciting new addition to our outdoor construction area. From teamwork and problem-solving to imaginative play and physical development, there are so many learning opportunities as the children explore and lead their own adventures.

We can't wait to see what amazing structures, inventions, and creations appear next.

Rainy weather inspired today's creativity ☔

The children asked to make umbrellas, talking about all the rain we've been having! We also managed to sneak outside before the next shower arrived, making the most of the fresh air and enjoying some outdoor adventures together.

Such a special day as we released our butterflies 🦋

The children loved watching their incredible journey from tiny caterpillars to beautiful butterflies. We've observed the changes, talked about the life cycle, and learned so much along the way.

We watched them spread their wings and fly. It was a magical moment and a wonderful reminder of how much can change and grow with a little time and care.

Goodbye butterflies, and thank you for helping us learn.
