Inspiration Post 💜
As a mum of two, a nanna, and a teacher, the poem If a Child by Dorothy Law has inspired me in so many ways.
I bought a copy when I was just 22 years old and placed it in my kitchen, where I could read it every day. It became a daily reminder of just how important our words, actions, and attitudes are in shaping a child’s confidence, character, and sense of belonging.
Over the years, its message has guided me through parenting, teaching, and now grandparenting. It has reminded me that children learn far more from what they experience than from what they are told.
Although none of us gets it right all the time, we all have the opportunity to encourage, support, and believe in the children in our lives. The love, kindness, patience, and respect we show today can leave a lasting imprint on their tomorrow.
This beautiful poem continues to inspire me, and I hope it encourages you too. 💙

Thomas and Hermione who I’ve tutored for three and four years respectively- ending the summer term .
The only place where throwing paint at your teacher ( and vice versa) is encouraged. 😊 Final masterpiece now on display at Saffron Primary Tutoring .

A very special post .

The most rewarding part of being a teacher is watching a child blossom academically, emotionally, and physically. I've had the privilege of teaching Hermione since she was in Year 2, and now she's moving on to her secondary school. Watching her grow into the confident, tenacious, capable young lady she is today has been such a rewarding journey. I couldn't be prouder of all she has achieved, and I wish her every success and happiness in this exciting new chapter.

To all my amazing Year 6s — good luck in your SATs this week 🌟
Remember, tests and exams do not define who you are. Everyone learns differently, grows differently, and shines in their own way. This picture is a reminder that one test can never measure all the wonderful things that make you you.
What matters most is the progress you’ve made, the confidence you’ve built, and how far you’ve come — even the smallest steps forward are still steps forward. I am so proud of every single one of you for your hard work, resilience, and determination.
Believe in yourselves, try your best, and don’t forget how capable you truly are ✨
