"Back to Work" for Willow as it's finally starting to cool down a bit!!! Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the sun & the warmer temperatures but Willow really struggles - you could tell this morning that she'd had the summer "off" as after only walking just over a mile with B she flopped as if she'd run a marathon!!! Bless her πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜³

B & I were talking over a few last minute 6th Form anxieties - new building, new teachers, new/different students - which are all totally valid anxieties, and we chatted through a few ways to ease them on the day, making the most of the beautiful Isle of Wight countryside at the same time. There is just something so calming about being out in nature, particularly when you've got a stubborn Bullmastiff in tow to lighten the mood!! πŸ˜‚

After that Willow dealt with some of her own anxieties as we had a routine trip to the vet - she has been nervous of going ever since she was spayed during the 2nd Lockdown in 2020 😒 She was brilliant though, it only took us 15 minutes (instead of 30) to get from the car to the door, then she waited her turn and finished the trip by getting on the scales (that she normally hates!) Super proud of her πŸ’•πŸŒŽπŸ¦žπŸ‘£πŸΎβœ¨οΈ

"Trying" to get ahead of myself and my tax return this time - not sure how long this motivation (or coffee) will last so I'm just going to ride with it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Today is "National Dog Day" and I need to celebrate Willow 🀩

She is an amazing therapy dog to my Lobsters, and she is also the best pet dog ever!!! She came into our lives at just the right time and has cemented everything 😍

I really don't know where I would be without her - and I know my Lobsters feel the same - She is just perfect!! If you think your child may benefit from some Animal Assisted Interventions or if you would just like some more information, please drop me a message xx

The morning after the day before ... GCSE results day ... and I hope you have all managed to process your results (good or bad) and work out your next steps.

I collected mine from Cowes High School 32 years ago 😱 and gained results that enabled me to go to sixth form to do my A-levels for my chosen career of Teacher or Social Worker. However, during my study leave, I had got myself a job at Harcourt Sands (a Haven holiday park in Ryde, sadly demolished now), soon became accustomed with that way of life and enjoyed being 'treated like a grown up' that after 2 months of sixth form I left school and went to work there full time - Much to my parents dismay 😬

I stayed there for 3 fantastic seasons and while I was there I gained NVQ's in Hospitality which led to my next job at the Seaview Hotel where I met the father of my boys. I had William just after my 20th birthday and Joseph 3 years later, whilst still working in the hospitality industry - a long way from the Education / Care route I had planned when I was at school.

I was diagnosed with Post Natal Depression after I had Joseph and became involved with Sure Start - and that's where my journey back towards Education and Care began. They put me through my Level 2 NVQ and gave me my first childcare related job. That was in 2002 and I haven't looked back. I went to Uni when I was 31 and got my Foundation Degree, followed by my Honours Degree, and I am now just where I want to be. In the profession I wanted to be in when I was at school. I just went about it a different way. πŸ₯°

What I'm trying to get to, in my fantastic ADHD 'around the houses' kind of way, is that there is no right or wrong way to life, what is meant to be will always find a way and you just need to trust the process. Keep going for your dreams, you will get there, and then The World will most definitely be your Lobster!! πŸ’•πŸŒŽπŸ¦žβœ¨οΈ

When I worked in Nurseries we had a saying when it rained, "There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing & preparations!" 😜

Very true on this mornings Walk and Talk session with Ethan & Willow (finally!!!) I totally ignored the forecast of heavy showers this morning, because the sky "looked okay" when we parked up, and very nearly didn't take my hoodie until Ethan said it would probably be for the best - half way to our "coffee stop" at the CafΓ© at Dores Hill, it didn't just rain a bit, the heavens opened!!!! Ethan was very prepared & had his waterproof coat, whereas I just got rather wet and my feet started slipping around in my sandals πŸ˜‚ It was totally worth it though as our drinks were really good & Willow had her first ever Puppucino 😍

However, it was so lovely to feel the rain on my face and we both agreed how refreshing it was after all the high temperatures of the past few weeks. And Willow absolutely loved her first (& longest) walk in about 2 weeks!!!
