Finally got around to doing the maths! I am delighted to announce our fundraising total from the last few months of outdoor yoga sessions that I have been holding in Higham Ferrers. Thank you to everybody who contributed.

“Wow Caroline! This money will be a huge help in caring for the gardens. We would love to have barrel-style water butts fixed to the downpipes on the barns, to provide much needed water in the summer droughts. English Heritage are delighted that the space is being used to such a good purpose and hopefully you will return next year.”

I’m not sure whether the weather is going to be on our side for this one! So please keep an eye on my stories on Sunday morning, because if it’s raining, I will have to cancel 😢 But hopefully we will get one last session together! After this, I will be taking a break for September, as I have a couple of holidays lined up 😎

This week we’re in Menorca. The place I have visited most in the world, having been here every year since I was a baby. Now I bring Marco, and share with him all the same experiences I had. The joy of this place is its comfortable predictability. Barely a thing has changed in 40 years! The same people, shops, restaurants, pools, beaches. It feels like a second home. Menorca is also home to the most beautiful hibiscus flowers you will ever find 🌺

I went litter picking this morning with the Rushden Higham Ferrers Litter Wombles and this time it was personal, as the alleyway runs behind my house.

Doing no harm to our environment is a key facet of yoga (ahimsa) and also acts of selfless service (sevā). But litter picking is actually a very meditative act on its own. You’re having to concentrate deeply, in the moment, and focus in on tiny parts of the world around you. Plus the physical benefits of being outdoors, moving, walking, grabbing.. so if you want to enjoy multiple yoga benefits then why not come along to the next one?
