Job Description:

To effectively work alongside the Nursery Manager ensuring that nursery life is safe, stimulating, and compliant with EYFS, Ofsted and safeguarding requirements.

We are a homely setting with extensive grounds for children to run around and explore, with trees to hide in and slides to zoom down our outdoor space is wonderful!

We draw on principles from a variety of early education pedagogies.

Main duties and responsibilities:
✅ To contribute to the effective delivery of the EYFS ensuring the individual needs of the children are met. Having a clear understanding of the EYFS framework, using the characteristics of effective learning help children learn and develop.
✅ To keep records up to date of your key children’s development and learning journals; sharing with the parents/careers and other key adults in the child’s life; Using the online learning journal Eylog. To support in the development of Eylog with Early years assistants and practitioners.
✅ To ensure the safeguarding and welfare of the children, staff and parents/to always ensure good practice.
✅To attend training sessions, staff meetings and any other meetings to help improve your practise of work whether this is during or after work hours according to the staff handbook.

Requirements:

☑️A minimum of a full and relevant Level 3
☑️Two satisfactory relevant references
☑️Satisfactory disclosure check
☑️The relevant skills to support the team and daily routine within the ethos, implementation, and legal requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Weekly hours and shift:
Full and part time positions available, days and times negotiable.

Skills & Qualification requirements:
Essential
☑️ Level 3 Childcare qualification
☑️ Good knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements
☑️ Awareness of the Ofsted inspection framework
☑️ To be punctual and well organised
Desirable
☑️ Experience as Room Leader and Deputy Manager preferable
☑️ Recent Paediatric First Aid Certificate
☑️ Safeguarding and Child Protection training

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
40-hour week, early and late shifts between Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend training or events.

The Homestead Childcare is looking for a Nursery Manager

You will be an experienced Manager with previous leadership experience to manage our home from home setting, The Homestead Childcare is a small nursery setting located in Ruislip.

We are set in beautiful rural surroundings, amongst fields and countryside.

We value the home based approach and all that it stands for, the right candidate will value and support this ethos.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about child development, supporting the individual child and making every day fun.

💗About the role💗

With overall responsibility for the running of the setting, you will need to recruit and manage staff, promote and market the setting to achieve occupancy targets, you will need to build and maintain excellent relationships with the children in your care and their parents, taking an active role in ensuring that the nursery is safe, stimulating and complaint with EYFS, Ofsted and safeguarding requirements

👩Person specification👦
It is essential that the candidate is qualified to degree level or level 3 with management experience in Early Years and childcare. With previous management experience ideally for at least 3 years in a nursery setting and previous experience in Ofsted procedures.
You must be able to develop a fantastic rapport with children and demonstrate significant understanding of children’s learning and development, and education.

Hours of work – Days and hours negotiable.

Hello families, one of our little ones who came to my home during my childminding years and joined us at The Homestead Childcare when we first opened many years ago, has been selected to represent the uk at the world scout jamboree in Korea next year. We are so so proud of him! 💚💛💜💙
