Inset Day Notice

Today is an INSET day, so the nursery is closed while our team takes time for training and planning.

Our doors will be back open tomorrow, ready to welcome all our little ones back!

Apologies for the short notice. However the children are welcome to come into nursery tomorrow, wearing red, white and blue. In honour of VE Day.

Another wonderful half term completed. Crazy to believe we only have 1 more term before the summer holidays.

We would like to wish all your children and families a lovely Easter! Fingers cross the weather stays nice.

Nursery will be re-opened on Tuesday 22nd April.

For the remaining of the week, a table will be outside nursery with any lost property. Any un claimed items will be placed in the clothes bank at the end of term.

We start off the week by continuing with our book focus 'Dragon dance', and talking about Chinese new year. Children have had opportunities to extend this further by creating their own dragons using playdough and loose parts. Through exploring Noodles through sensory play as well as creating snakes (as 2025 is the year of the snake) and by developing fine motor skills through colouring. Our sound of the week is 'P', children have been exposed to sound it makes, and have been able to explore the sound through different play such as 'becoming pirates' creating our own treasure maps. doing lots of mark making in sand and corn flour. Our shape focus has been 'semi circle' children have had opportunities to explore the 'semi circle shape' as well as other shapes through sensory play, matching shapes and talking about when we might see a semi-circle (for example 'rainbow'. Our song of the half term is 'The grand of Duke of York'.

We end the week by started off Career's week earlier by having a fire fighter come into nursery to talk all things 'Fire fighters'. The children were able to see what some of the equipment looks like (uniform) and take an active role in participating in conversation and having a go and putting on the fire fighter helmet.

Happy new year to all our children and their families. We hope you had a lovely Christmas break. A reminder that nursery is closed today for INSET day. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow from 7:30.

Our final week at nursery before the Christmas break, and what fun filled week its been! Our book this week has been 'Stickman'. Children have enjoyed listening to the story, as well as watching the animated version too. We have also been getting creative and making our very own stickman too. Our sound of the week has been 'M'. children have been introduced to the sound it makes, and familiarizing themselves with it. Our song of the half term has been 'Baa Baa black sheep' and our shape of the week has been 'Circle'.

This week the children also enjoyed themselves at our Christmas party, where we did lots of dancing and festive activities We also got a very special surprised from Father Christmas too. We wanted to say a big thank you to Ruishton School & Woodlands PTFA 2023 for supplying all of our children with books this Christmas.

From everyone at Woodlands we would like to say a huge thank you for all your cards, treats and gifts that we have received from our wonderful families. Your kindness and generosity are greatly appreciated by us all.

We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!. We will see you on Tuesday 7th January 2025!
