Youโve got a high performer, they challenge the status quo, they question everything, they think differently to the rest of the team.
Some senior leaders recruit deliberate diversity of thinking into an existing team to shake it up. The intention is good but not executed well it can be destructive.
Recognise that group think is like a tanker, and to change itโs direction you might need more than one tug boat.
And that tug boat needs support. Or they will end up suffering from stress and imposter syndrome. So arrange for a senior leader as a mentor, or an external coach, to help them build resilience.
And perhaps recruit similar disrupters to add more tug boats to your fleet.
Either way if the distrupter isnโt supported they will leave, their mental health may suffer, their experience of working altered.
Iโve seen this before, the new blood disrupter leaves and whilst their working their notice someone else puts their notice in; because secretly the second person wanted the changes they could see the first person might catalyse.
And interestingly this might just be the start of the domino rally. Because although their โdifferentโ way of thinking might not have obvious support it might very well have support, from above and below.
Perhaps it is you, youโve joined a team to bring in a different perspective and at first it was great, those challenges brought change and improvement but recently the atmosphere has changed. When you speak there is a beat before anyone speaks or reacts, you feel unwelcome.
If you can see what is needed and how it can be delivered but itโs not the message the organisation wants?
The organisation has people who promise delivery, even though you know the data you have gathered tells a different story. Your integrity is being compromised in meetings when you hear what you know is a tall tale being shared with stakeholders. But everyone just wants to hear โit will all be okโ
And how do you recover if it is you?
Without some level of intervention protecting your mental health is difficult; you have two choices, put up or shut up. But what if there is a third? That you can

I like Taylor Swift. I bought her first album when it first came out, before anyone had ever coined the phrase โSwiftieโ and I love her lyrics. When the fanbase became mainstream I stepped away, it became competative about who the biggest fan was and Eros tour, no thanks, too much for me.
But I still like her music and her lyrics. I find them thought provoking and uplifting.
Iโve used shake it off to get people moving when presenting planning in post lunch (Graveyard) shift of an away day to get the energy going again.
Iโve used her messaging in Guide meetings. Iโve cited her as a role model for doing good things.
But you donโt need to be a teenage girl to be able to relateโฆโฆjust take a moment and think; what do you need to shake off? ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ ๐ป๐ผ๐. Moving your body is the quickest way to change your internal state.
What are you holding on to which isnโt serving you?
Can you identify it?
Sometimes itโs just a feeling, something anchoring you in those old patterns, those old ways of working.
Maybe it is a belief linked to your success, it might be a product you lovingly developed, but your clients are no longer showing interest in. Or perhaps a software which is no longer the best suited to your needs.
Or maybe it is a belief you hold.
Take some time today to review it, to examine it and look for a tweak, a change or an alternative.

This is particularly relevant when they work in silos, in a masculine organisation (that is not the same as them being male) or where there is internal rivalry.
So why would you want your leaders to have group coaching?
Well they donโt need to bare their soul in the room to get the changes they need. And a good coach/facillitator provokes thought and internal reflection. which intern leads to changed behaviours.
And there are significant benefits when you bring a group of senior leaders together.
It can help to breakdown those silos and rivalry, be a conduit for knowledge sharing, aid whole picture thinking. Networks grow.
Itโs not just coaching;
It is facilitated change
Itโs provoking reflection
Itโs shifting beliefs deeper than surface level
Itโs a higher collaboration between teams.
Itโs greater productivity
Itโs enhanced problem soliving
Itโs innovation.
I have two group coaching programmes; The Confident Leader Programme and The newly devleoped Exemplar Leadership C.O.M.P.A.S.S.

Have you heard of the drama triangle? The one with the Victim, Perpertrator, and Rescuer? Itโs a model often used in management training, counsellin,g and personal development.
But it has itโs limitsโฆ.
For starters it is passive; someone is a victim.
Itโs also aggressive; there is a perpetrator.
In a world where we talk about mindset being the cornerstone of success and resilience why do we keep insisting that they idenfity in a dynamic which includes identifying themselves as a victim. So what is the alternative?
Let me introduce you to the empowerment dynamic.
This is a dynamic much better suited to our modern world. Where we have options and choices,
It also has 3 roles:
The Creator
The Challenge (or Catalyst)
The Coach (or as I like to prefer to refer to it; the Cheerleader).
This whole dynamic is based on decision and responsibility, rather than disempowering the โvictimโ, no one is rescuing, no one is taking the situation away, the onus is on the protagonist to take ownership and make decisions to address their situation.
So when things arenโt where you want them to be ask yourself โam I being the victim here? What would be different if I were the creator, with choices, what would those choices be? Which would be my likely route?โ
Not sure? Why not join me on a clarity connection session? 90 min, letโs look at your choices and plot your route.

Imposter syndrome doesnโt always fade as you rise. It just gets smarter.
At mid-career, it stops saying โyouโre not good enoughโ and starts saying โyouโve just been lucky.โ It minimises your experience, reframes your success, and keeps you playing small.
But hereโs the truth, self-doubt thrives in silence.
This is your permission to speak it aloud, unpack it, and dismantle it. Youโve earned more than success. Youโve earned the right to believe in it.

At some point, you have to stop collecting external evidence and start trusting your own.
Youโve done the work. Youโve led teams. Youโve made decisions others wouldnโt dare to make. The fear that youโll be โfound outโ doesnโt come from reality, it comes from years of internalising impossible standards.
The confidence youโre looking for isnโt on the next rung of the ladder. Itโs already within your experience, your insight, and your ability to handle complex situations.
Visit my website to find out how I can help you build self-belief that finally feels real.

Youโve done everything they said would make you feel confident.
The qualifications. The promotions. The years of experience. The reputation.
So why does self-doubt still whisper that youโre one mistake away from being exposed?
This is the confidence paradox. The more you achieve, the more pressure you feel to maintain the image. And the harder it is to believe you belong.
Itโs not because youโre broken. Itโs because youโre human. And there are ways to stop this cycle.
Visit my website to find out how I can help you silence the inner critic and lead with confidence thatโs grounded in truth, not perfection.
