🌱 Let me introduce myself
Hello, my name is Lynsey.
I’m a qualified Early Years Teacher and a mum to three children (although my first-born is now an adult). My two younger children, aged 9 and 12, are both home educated, which has deeply shaped the way I view learning, childhood and wellbeing.
I have been working as an Ofsted-registered childminder since 2019, and throughout my career I have always believed that children are the leaders of their own learning. My role is to provide the right connection, guidance and environment, allowing children the space to explore, discover and grow in a way that feels natural to them.
This child-led approach to learning led to me being graded ‘Outstanding’ in all areas during my Ofsted inspection; something I am incredibly proud of, as it reflects the values I hold at the heart of my practice.
I carry this same philosophy into my own children’s education. Both of my boys have the autonomy and freedom to follow their interests, learning in ways that suit their individuality. When children are trusted to learn in this way, they can fully immerse themselves, build confidence and develop a genuine love of learning.
Above all, I am passionate about creating spaces where children can be themselves, feel safe, respected and valued, and where differences are welcomed and celebrated.
This belief sits at the very heart of Lilybeans and our allotment is a place where children can connect with nature, move at their own pace, and grow in confidence through calm, supportive experiences.
This is the beginning of a much bigger vision, rooted in care, community and connection 🌿
