On Friday, we enjoyed our long-standing annual trip to Bocketts Farm! 🐑🚜

It was a fun (hot) packed day, we travelled by coach (with aircon this year!!) which provided much excitement for the children! We had lots of fun activities.... The children had the chance to meet and handle some of the smaller animals, including chicken and guinea pigs and we then went off to the barn to feed the very hungry sheep, goats and llamas. We also enjoyed a tractor ride around the farm, watched the pig racing, and shared a picnic lunch together.

It was lovely to spend time with with everyone and for staff, parents and children to get to know each other better and a great We hope you all enjoyed yourselves!

Wow what a hot couple of weeks we've had! The children have a enjoyed lots of water play to keep them cool...We've had ice trays to play with, lemonade making tuff trays, we've taken our shoes and socks off and stood in trays of water and made foot prints, theyve also enjoyed a good old fashion game of running through the hose! A very popular activity has been spraying with water spray bottles, and painting the garden with water and brushes has kept the children entertained for ages! The have even enjoyed ice lollies in the afternoons!

The children have been learning about caterpillars and butterflies and we have been looking caterpillars and carefully watching their transformation. We then got to release them which was a big highlight of the week. Alongside this we've enjoyed the hungry caterpillar story sack and made our own sparkly butterflies.

Our bigger children are getting ready to move up to primary school in September. They have been off to visit their new classrooms and the teachers have come into preschool to see the children.
We have had a school themed role play area and the kids have enjoyed dressing up in their new uniforms.

We would like to say a huge thank you to our committee and the parents who kindly came in over the weekend to help tidy and refresh our garden area. It’s looking beautiful and the children are already benefiting from the brighter, more inviting space. We are very grateful for you giving up your free time to help.

🧸☀️ Teddy Bears’ Picnic Fun at Rudgwick Preschool ☀️🧸

On Friday we held our annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic, where the children took part in sponsored laps to help raise money for new toys and resources. It was a warm one but the children did brilliantly and completed lots laps and We are very proud of them.

We had refreshments available, a bouncy castle, and lots of families joined us with their picnics and favourite teddies. As well as raising funds, this event is a lovely opportunity for families to socialise, meet each other, and chat with the staff team. Thank you to Little Street Children's Role Play Rudgwick - Horsham for supplying the refreshment stand!

Our annual Teddy Bears Picnic and Sponsored Walk will be held on Friday 19th June. We mark out a short course for the children to walk or run around, accompanied by their teddy or other soft toy. Please help us in our biggest fundraising event.

A huge thank you to Barnsfold Liss Nurseries for their generous donation of plants. The children have loved helping to plant them, and our preschool is already looking brighter and cheerier because of it. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.

🥗 Healthy Eating, Well‑Being & Lots of Active Fun at Rudgwick Preschool 🥗

This week we’ve been learning all about healthy eating and well‑being at Rudgwick Preschool. The children enjoyed sorting healthy dinners and packed lunches, talking about the foods they like, what helps our bodies grow, and why certain foods are good for us. They also got wonderfully creative with the playdough, making their own “healthy dinners” and imaginative meals.

One of the highlights of our week was a lively game of human Hungry Hippos! The children lay on wheelie boards and used their bodies to manoeuvre around the room, collecting matching coloured balls and placing them into the correct trays. It was a brilliant physical development activity that had both staff and children laughing and cheering.

We also enjoyed a fun‑packed singing and dancing session with Debbie from Musical Friends and a magical storytelling drama session with Sam from Happily Ever After The children were fully engaged and loved every moment.

We also set up balance beams and stepping stones, played musical spots, and held a mini sports afternoon with javelin throwing, egg‑and‑spoon races, beanbag balancing, and parachute games. These activities supported the children’s gross motor skills and teamwork beautifully.

Another favourite activity was bubble painting. The children blew into coloured water to create bubbly patterns and artwork. This is not only fun but also fantastic for strengthening the muscles used in speech and language.

We’ve also been gardening after receiving a wonderful donation from Barnsfold Liss Nurseries — a huge thank you to them for supporting our little gardeners.
