We have some amazing news, as from September 2022 we will be running an Access to HE in Criminology and Policing at Dearne Valley college.

This is an amazing opportunity for individuals who are wanting to go to university or adults that are wanting to get back into education, as well as continuing students.

It will enable you to progress with a career in the police, prison, probation services as well as much more....

It’s that time of year again…

As part of our Uniformed Public Service and Outdoor Adventurous Activities courses all of our learners are either preparing or reviewing on their multi-day expeditions in the peak district.

The first expedition was a success for all, learners thoroughly enjoyed their experience camping and conquering a full mountaineering day as part of their expedition. They even visited a memorial aircraft site to learn about the history of the incident.

Tutors Paul & Carmen are super proud of all the group and want to say a massive well done to you all!🏕⛺️

Well done to all our students across Sport and Public Services who competed in our intercollege comp against Grimsby College. It was great to see outstanding efforts displayed throughout the competition.

Local Business Sponsors College Football Team

We are pleased to announce that the DVC football Academy has gained sponsorship from local business Sandhill Golf Club. This is the first time the Academy has been sponsored by an external business. The team consists of players from all curriculum areas from Dearne Valley College, not just Sports and Public Services.

The team currently plays in the AoC Colleges League

Not only were Sandhill Golf Club kind enough to purchase training and match day kit for the team, but they have also provided training gear and equipment for the team. On behalf of the team we will like to personally thank Vince from the club for his generous and on-going support with the academy.

About Sandhill Golf Club
First opened in 1993, and located just five miles east of Barnsley, Sandhill is home to one of the finest courses in the region. Measuring 6035 yards from the yellow tee on the first to the pin on the eighteenth, it is a real challenge as the par of 71 suggests. The club offers a range of facilities such as catering, clubhouse, driving range and onsite shop.

Come see what DVC has to offer

Well done to some of our Sport & Public Services learners along with Computing and IT have organised a charity Fun Run/Walk at 1300 on Thursday 9th December. The run/walk will be from the College to the Blue Bridge and back at Manvers.🏃🏼‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️

The event is to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) a charity that has gained most exposure recently with the running exploits of Kevin Sinfield who is raising money to help his best friend Rob Burrow, who are both ex Professional Rugby League players.
