A very warm welcome back to our pupils, their parents and carers! I hope you all enjoyed a happy and relaxing Summer holiday with your families and friends.
Killowen PS will begin tomorrow morning at 8.30am and pupils will go home at 12 noon. A special welcome is extended to our new pupils and families joining our school community. We are delighted to have you with us!
We look forward to working in partnership with our parents and carers throughout the year to provide the best educational experience for all of our pupils. Together, we can help every pupil flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
Thank you all for your continued support. We wish everyone a happy, successful and rewarding school year! 💙💛

As we reach the end of another successful school year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our entire school community for their continued support and commitment.

This year has been filled with memorable experiences, exciting learning opportunities and many achievements, both inside and outside the classroom. Our pupils have worked incredibly hard, shown kindness to one another and embraced every opportunity with confidence and determination. We are immensely proud of each and every one of them.

I would also like to express my sincere thanks to our dedicated staff, whose passion and commitment ensure that our children receive the very best education and care every day. To our parents and families, thank you for your ongoing support and partnership throughout the year. I am also very grateful for the support of the Killowen Community to our school!

To our pupils who are moving on to the next stage of their education, we wish you every success and happiness. We know you will continue to achieve great things.

I hope everyone has a safe, restful and enjoyable Summer break. We look forward to welcoming our pupils back in the new school year, ready for another exciting year of learning and growth.

🌟RECEPTION GRADUATION! 🌟
What a great morning we had celebrating the graduation of our amazing Reception children! 🎓 It has a wonderful year seeing each child flourish! We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and know they are ready for their exciting journey into Primary 1.

We were delighted to welcome Ms O’Reilly back to school for our final art workshop with KS1 and KS2. 🎨

Our KS1 pupils continued working on their storyboards of Oisín and Niamh in Tír na nÓg, using chalk pastels to bring their illustrations to life with colour.

Meanwhile, KS2 explored their Space topic by using chalk pastels to create stunning planets, experimenting with blending techniques to achieve realistic effects.

A huge thank you to Ms O’Reilly for another excellent workshop. The children have thoroughly enjoyed these sessions! 🌟🖍️

'The best trip ever'!!!

Our whole school had a fantastic day on our end of year trip to Cocos, Newcastle.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Michael Hazzard and all the staff at Cocos for their warm welcome, kindness and care throughout the day. Michael went above and beyond to ensure that everyone had a safe and enjoyable experience.

A wonderful day was had by all and it was the perfect way to celebrate another successful year at school. 💛💙

School Leavers!
Sincere appreciation to everyone who helped make our End of Year P7 Mass so special. A special word of thanks to Fr. Des for leading us so thoughtfully in prayer.
We are incredibly proud of our P7 pupils for their respectful participation in making their Mass very special. Thank you to Summer who performed the Psalm so beautifully and the whole school for their beautiful singing during the Mass.
While we will miss our P7s, we are all excited to see what the future holds for each and every one of them.

Yesterday, Primary 3 to P7 pupils went on an exciting trip to our neighbours at Mourne Textiles. We are grateful to Karen, Mario and Tara for the invitation.
The visit gave us a super opportunity to learn about the traditional craft of weaving. Mario explained how the weaving tradition was an important skill carried through three generations of his family.
Our pupils combed the wool and got the opportunity to use the hand loom, arranging the threads to produce a pattern.
Our visit was most enjoyable and informative. This was an excellent way to learn outside the classroom.
The visit linked to our P3/4 WAU topic on Ireland. It helped us explore this traditional Irish craft. Weaving has been a very important part of our cultural heritage.
Thanks again to Karen, Mario and Tara! 😊
