I have just exported the final version of the Zero Waste Basket sewing pattern. It launches tomorrow (Friday 1st May) and with a discounted launch price until end of Monday 4th May.

The pattern is simple, aimed at beginners and has the basis to be creatively adapted! Although there is maths, you are guided through every step in detail.

I cannot wait to see versions people make!

Zero Waste Basket Pattern: Release date is Friday 1st May!

1: The pattern release date is around the corner. Final checks happening this week, then it will be released.
The pattern is aimed at beginner sewists and a great introduction to "Zero Waste" sewing patterns.
2. The Standard Basket pattern is open top, great for storage.
3. The Drawstring Basket has simple construction for a spacious bag.
4. The Button & Loop pouch is great for statement buttons and are great to use as gift bags!
5. Each of the variations has simple construction with detailed instructions, including photos.The instructions include creative ideas to take the pattern and make it your own outside the standard three versions.
6. Release date: THIS WEEK - Friday May 1st.

It has been a little while to get here, but my first sewing pattern is coming very soon.

The Zero Waste Basket is a simple storage piece for everyday use. The pattern has been designed to use every thread of set size of fabric to create the basket.
It’s not just a basket; the pattern comes with three core variations, perfect for using as storage or as a reusable gift bags.

🍃 Printmaking With Leaves 🍃

I usually use stamps or cut outs for specific shapes. My garden is thriving with various plants perfect for experimenting with. Here are a few playful prints with ACTUAL leaves with some varied textures depending on how paint is applied.

It did take some practise to get some good results, but look at those textures!

Recreating geometric shapes onto fabric 🎨 A quick experiment with stencils to create a cushion cover to match my sewing space.
Materials:
- scrap card
- fabric paints and sponges
- leftover medium-weight cotton
- Cricut machine and scalpel.
Time taken: approx 2 hours.

What are you up to this weekend?

I have a clear weekend for lots of sewing plans - hurray! My first long sleeve Donny shirt with fabric received at Christmas from a friend! It matches my sewing room PERFECTLY! Then it'll be a new pj set using double gauze, which I am told is heavenly!

If you are interested in shirts, I will be teaching the (short sleeve) Donny Shirt in February/March. More dates coming.

SPECIAL OFFER on an upcoming PRINTMAKING class Saturday 21st Feb- Save £10!

"Mini Explore Printmaking" class is two hours to have a play with printmaking techniques and take home something designed by you! This is time dedicated to being freely creative and learn something new, whatever your art experience.

I would like to capture students taking part in a class in my studio space. I am offering a discount for a session on 21st February with students who are happy to be photographed in action.

Students will still learn everything as planned with my support and I am aim to take photographs with minimum disruption to the class. By joining this session, you agree that photos (and maybe videos) taken can be used in promotion of Sew It Jenny workshops on website, social media and leaflets.

If that isn't for you - there is a regular session available on Friday 13th March 10am at regular price.
