A great day at the zoo. The colder and windy weather did not put us off. Our highlight at the zoo was a very close encounter with two snow leopards basking in the sun.

My mindee came in today wearing a Gruffalo outfit which sparked conversations about the Gruffalo. This changed my planning and the activities for the day - we watched the gruffalo book read aloud, drew and decorated the Gruffalo and then went for a walk to find that “big guy”

It stared with a half full bottle of water then glitter was added. They sank to the bottom when they settled. Then vegetable oil was added the glitter stayed in the oil layer and not in the water. Then fairy liquid was added to the water which “smashed “ the oil into pieces. So much fun so much quality discussion around science, colour mixing, maths, fine motor skills. We laughed a lot most importantly 😂🤣😇.
Other art is glue and glitter on paper 💝
