From the boxing ring to the football pitch… 🥊⚽

At just 22, Nabeel brings a different sporting background to TALK FC.

With a boxing background, Nabeel knows all about discipline, perseverance and pushing yourself outside your comfort zone. But when he joined TALK FC’s Tuesday Night Football at Fairlop in partnership with LMAC Group Ltd and Huge Force, he found something that goes beyond the sport itself.

He came for the football and the chance to enjoy a distraction with the guys — but what he gets from TALK FC is connection, friendship and a community where he can be himself.

For Nabeel, one of the best things about TALK FC is that wherever you attend, the community remains the same — supportive, friendly and welcoming.

Today we mark World Mental Health Day, a moment to amplify this year’s theme: “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.”

It’s a message that sits at the core of TALK FC — because real change in men’s mental health starts when their stories are seen, heard, and valued.

Every week, our players show the power of lived experience. Through honesty, connection, and courage, they reshape what support looks like for men in our community. Their voices guide our work. Their journeys inspire others to speak up. Their experiences drive change far beyond the pitch.

🟢 TALK FC Player Focus — Alessandro Russo

Alessandro’s TALK FC story is about resilience.

After being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2018, Alessandro faced four incredibly difficult years. Hospital stays, blood and iron transfusions, major surgery and moments where his life was genuinely at risk.

In November 2022, a bowel blockage resulted in 10cm of his small bowel being removed and Alessandro having a stoma — something he credits with saving his life.

But Alessandro didn’t let those experiences define what came next.

He persevered.

He kept moving forward. He found his way back to football, back to being active and, importantly, back to enjoying life.

Today, Alessandro gets so much from TALK FC — the football, the social side, the friendships and the community.

His story is a reminder that resilience isn’t about never facing difficult times. It’s about finding the strength to keep going when you do.

And perhaps most importantly, Alessandro shows us that sometimes getting back on the pitch is about far more than football.

💚 Resilience. Perseverance. Community.

More than football. It’s family.

Wow wow wow! What a night!

Our friendly charity game with our fabulous sponsors LMAC Group Ltd took place at Billericay Town FC, and what a fantastic celebration and a night to raise awareness of what Talk FC is all about.

Big thank you to the crowd that turned up in numbers and the noise made and thank you to all the players that played who made it such an entertaining game.

Our deepest thanks to Lee, Kerrie, Nadia and all the LMAC team for being class on and off the pitch & making this happen.
