We are looking for talented female performers for our August production of SIX: TEEN EDITION here at the Brookside Theatre, Romford in association with Havering Youth Theatre

Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived.
From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the mic to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st-century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over.

We are looking for our 6 queens now so if you think you (or your daughter / sister / niece / granddaughter / friend / student) has got what it takes then please pass this information on to them and ask them to get in touch!

This is a youth amateur production - age requirements 16-19 years of age.

Show participation fee will apply

Parental discretion is advised as the show contains occasional strong language and innuendo.

We will be offering one-to-one singing lessons here at the theatre to children concentrating on breathing, mouth shape, pitching and general technique as well as offering performance coaching for song & dance competition pieces and auditions :)

We are auditioning this week for our Christmas production of CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY (6th Dec - 23rd Dec 2024)

Looking for youth performers for the following roles:

Charlie (Male) aged 10-13 - must be a strong singer with unchanged vocals (Max height 5ft2)

Mike Teavee (Male) aged 12-16 - must be a strong comedy actor with good singing voice. Some physical comedy involved. US accent (Max height 5ft6)

Augustus Gloop (Male) aged 12-16 - must be a strong singer (role includes yodelling) - German accent. Ideally looking for a plus size actor. (Max height 5ft6)

Veruca Salt (Female) aged 12-16 - must be a strong ballet dancer (ideally with en-pointe skills). Russian accent. (Max height 5ft4)

Violet Beauregarde (Female) aged 12-16. Must be a strong singer / dancer with pop belt. US accent. (Max height 5ft4)

Still looking (due to a timewaster) for a talented young performer (aged 8-15) who is a confident keyboard player to play Lawrence/Laura in SCHOOL OF ROCK

The rehearsal period is only 3 weeks now and need someone that can rehearse Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday daytimes for the next couple of weeks and then evening rehearsals for a week and then we are into show week (w/c 26th Aug)

Venue: Brookside Theatre, Romford

CALLING ALL MUSICAL DIRECTORS / BAND DIRECTORS

Due to unforeseen circumstances we are urgently looking for an experienced MD to help.our 4 talented young musicians in SCHOOL OF ROCK with the live music they have to play onstage.

Band line up is Keys, Guitar, Bass and Drums. Dots available.

1 or 2 daytime calls in Romford over the next weeks some flexibility on dates

Katie / Kevin (Competent Bass player - playing age 9-14)
Male classmates (Good singer/actors who can move)

Adult Roles available include
Rosalie Mullins (headteacher - operatic soprano / rock belt)
Ned Schneebly (Dewey's best friend - rock / tenor)
Patty (Ned's girlfriend - mezzo/belt)
Parents / Teachers
Members of No Vacancy (Rock Band but do not need to be able to play)

GEOFFREY - A quiet, shy widower with an honest quality. A beginner to the tap class but has a natural ability. Male - Playing age 30-50. Beginner tap skills.

ROSE - A bubbly, out-going, larger than life lady. Looking for a female performer of colour. Playing age 30-60. Beginner tap skills.

Casting for 'STEPPING OUT' (play version)

Looking for female performers of all ages (18+) for various roles - must have some tap dancing ability.

Also looking for our 'Jeffrey' - male actor aged 35+ who can tap and also 'Mrs Fraser' - mature actor who can play piano (will consider a male pianist who can drag up convincingly)

Rehearsals will be 2 evenings a week and Sunday daytimes at the theatre in Romford starting immediately
