This month is LGBT+ History Month 2023, and the theme for the month is - celebrating LGBT+ peoples’ contribution to cinema and film from behind the lens. In support of LGBTQ+ History Month, Havering Adult College is hosting The History and Development of Q***r Cinema seminar with Matt Hughes.

In this seminar learners will gain an understanding of the cultural, political, and social movements that have shaped q***r cinema, and will analyse seminal and obscure films important to the movement. Learners will be challenged to think critically about the representation of q***r lives and experiences in film and to consider the impact of q***r cinema in shaping public perceptions and attitudes. The seminar will end with a screening of an important but obscure film in q***r cinema.

This seminar is FREE for everyone and will be held at Havering Adult College's Bower Park Centre, Thursday 23rd February 2023 from 19:00 - 21:00
