This morning my students were so nervous because today was the day they were getting the results for their 11 Plus exams.

We spent our session talking about managing anxiety when waiting for results to help them feel less anxious. Reminding them no matter what the outcome is, we are proud and have seen so much growth in each and everyone of them.

When class was finished it was great to see them all celebrating their results! Jumping up and down!

Congratulations everyone! We hope you have continued to celebrate today!

Hi Year 6 Parents!

Are you beginning to think about choosing a Secondary School for your child?

Here are some of our tips!

1. Visit different schools with your child. It is important to take notice of how they feel about the school. After all, they will be spending the next few years there. If they like the environment they are learning in, this will help with motivation levels and achievements.

2. Take a look at the performance tables for local Secondary Schools in your area using the following link: https://bit.ly/3mw7hcQ You want to look at their overall performance and achievements for Grade 5 and above GCSE English & Maths

3. Ofsted reports are helpful but do not become too fixated on these. The Performace table is a much better reflection of the school.

4. Have a chat with us - we're here to help our students continue with the next phase of their learning journey.

Are you thinking about how to prepare for Year 6? ⁠⁠

We have a 4-week summer programme to help introduce the skills needed for the Key Stage 2 SATs. Year 6 is another vital year in Primary school, as the SATs will help determine the classes they will be placed in when they transition to Secondary School. Being placed in the wrong classes could mean they are not stretching to reach their potential. ⁠⁠

We have a large number of practice questions in different topic areas for Maths and English to help master the key methods needed to gain full marks. ⁠⁠

Our smart print-based materials follow the National Curriculum. ⁠⁠

Starting early is key! Why? Our students learn the importance of having a growth mindset and develop their own study skills which can set them up to be successful long-term. ⁠⁠

Too often we see students have been working through papers last minute resulting in short-term knowledge or even test anxiety! ⁠⁠

We plan for the long-term! We celebrate their daily wins, encourage them to see the bigger picture so they can navigate and destroy the boundaries they face. ⁠⁠

We know the summer holidays have just started and you’re most likely exhausted from the changes to schooling this year. ⁠⁠

You may also be thinking about how you can help your child move on further with their learning after receiving end of year reports. ⁠⁠

This is my seventh year as a Centre Manager, time has certainly flown by!

What is my favourite thing about what I do?

Seeing the growth in my students! 🌱 😊

AND Celebrating their wins (big and small) 🥳 🌟

I know...that's two things. But it was hard to choose between them. They both contribute to each other.

Seeing a student who was lacking confidence celebrate when they feel they are struggling on a question or concept, teaches them persistence is key.

It shows them they are capable of anything and even the smallest steps should be celebrated not only on their own but with everyone.

March 2020 onwards has been challenging, especially for children. This period has been where I have seen the most growth in my students and also myself. I've learnt new skills as my students also continued their learning.

They have shown me how resilient they are and motivated me to grow with them. Learning from others is a priceless gift.
