Our children have had the amazing opportunity of following the frog life cycle with tadpoles. We have watched them develop their legs and then arms and become little froglets ready to be released back into the pond they came from. Some of our children had the chance to even hold one of our froglets.
We are now also watching our caterpillars grow bigger and bigger each day. It won’t be long before they turn into chrysalis’ and then emerge as butterflies.
The children this week have helped Shannon to make up their wormery and hopefully we will find a worm soon to house inside and watch as it moves around the layers of soil.
Our children have been very excited to be doing these activities and learning about insects and looking after our natural world

We have been busy bees this week - our Sponsored Walk and lots of red, white and blue activities and talking about tomorrows coronation. The children have created a lovely display of Union Jack handprints, sparkly crowns and decorated silhouettes of King Charles.
Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend and enjoy your Coronation celebrations 👑

Every child that participated should have received their certificate and how many laps they have done.

All of us here at FIG would like to say a big THANK YOU to the London Fire Brigade Harold Hill base and to PC Lever and his colleague from the Metropolitan Police Service Romford station for helping us to learn more about the People who help us.
We are very grateful for the experience they have given our children here at FIG 🚒🚓

Continuing with our People who help us theme. We were also lucky enough to have a visit from the Police last week. We got to try on their hats and listen to their radios, we got to “arrest” Shannon and put her in handcuffs and into the police car. We also had the opportunity to sit in the police car and turn the sirens on.

More pictures will also be up on “our adventure begins here” board soon

One of the themes we have been learning about this half term is People who help us. What better way to learn than to have a visit from the fire brigade themselves. They spoke to us about what they do and how they help people. We then had the chance to explore the fire engine and we got to put out our own pretend fires with the hoses.
We have many more pictures from the experience which will soon be up on “our adventure begins here” board
