Yesterday we welcomed over 100 girls from schools across London to our East London IoT, in collaboration with The Cyberhub Trust, to explore careers in and its crucial role in emerging and developing technologies.

It was fantastic to see everyone inspired by the breadth of career options available to them, whilst learning more about keeping themselves and their data secure in a digital world.

At yesterday's celebration event we congratulated our first In-Work Training (IWT) Programme delegates on successfully completing their courses.

As part of a funded pilot by the Department for Education, our East London Institute of Technology - ELIoT, in collaboration with other sector-based expert training providers, developed free training courses in Cyber Security, Virtual Production and Electric Vehicle Charging, to delegates looking to upskill in these areas. Over 400 applicants from more than 350 companies engaged with the programme – supporting employers to bridge skills gaps, and employees to further their knowledge and career options.

We’re currently developing Skills Bootcamps to follow on from our IWT courses in these, and other areas crucial to the UK economy, providing opportunities to employers and employees in the Borough and beyond.
