It promises to be a great day for all the family with inflatables, local stalls, ice creams, games and lots more.

Keep an eye out for information about buying your wristbands for the inflatables.

We are still looking for stall holders so please message us if you are interested.

Also to make this happen we will need some volunteers to help on the day with the following:

🧹Assisting with set up and clear up

🐿️ helping run a FOSHS stall

💷Collecting Donations as people arrive

Any help you can give at all no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.

Summer Fete - Sunday 9th July

The planning for our Summer Fete is in full swing. We have managed to secure a partnership with OC Homes, who are based on Balgores Lane, Gidea Park to assist with advertising our Fete.

We are looking for people to allow a "For Sale' board to be put up outside their home advertising the Fete. OC Homes will put these up and then collect them once the Fete is over. The boards can then be reused by the Estate Agent.

They are donating £5 per board (for the first 100) and £2.50 thereafter to FOSHS which is amazing.

From Monday 22nd May to Friday 26th May the children will be taking part in a local history week study. Each year group will be investigating a different aspect of local history and it would be fantastic if they could interview some people who lived through the experiences! If you or any of you family members would like to come in or speak to the children via video link about any of the following subjects, we would be very grateful:

​Squirrels Heath School life (any family members or friends who attended Squirrels Heath Schools prior to 1985)
​The Queen's 2003 visit to Romford market.
​Changes in Hornchurch (anyone who has lived in Hornchurch for a few decades and can be interviewed about changes that have occurred).
Anyone with local knowledge about the airfield in South Hornchurch

If you would like to take part and are available on either Monday 22nd May or Tuesday 23rd May please phone or email the school office.

It would be an enriching experience for the children to be able hear first hand accounts from real life historians. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Jon Evans, one of our lovely parents, completed the London marathon yesterday in his personal best time of 4 Hours 47 mins! Jon was very kindly running the marathon to raise money for both Squirrels Junior and Infant schools.
