At the end of January, CIW inspected two sessions at the Preschool. As a result of this thorough inspection, we are delighted to have received a rating of Good across all four areas inspected: wellbeing, care and development, environment and leadership & management. Our previous inspection had resulted in us receiving 2 goods and 2 adequates. This improvement highlights the hard work that the staff have put in over the last 5 years and the love and care that they continue to show. Not only are we pleased with the rating, we also feel that the report captures a clear picture of the caring environment the preschool continues to create.

Books are central to our play and learning at the preschool. This week, we took time to celebrate books by sharing our favourites together and reading lots of stories.

As part of the new curriculum for Wales, we spend a lot of time celebrating our Welsh culture and heritage. Last week, we spent the whole week celebrating St David's Day, and on Thursday, we had a Welsh food-themed feast with Welsh Rarebit and Welsh cakes.

Some of the staff went on training at the weekend and were inspired to use some natural resources to create some heart stick wands. The children loved decorating these hazel sticks and taking them home to show their parents.
