Who’s now living in fear of judgement, more than Covid itself?

I’ve heard of so many stories of people being shouted at in the supermarket for stepping forwards at the till too soon, or yelled at for entering a building when they hadn’t been called in, not knowing they had to be.

It’s creating huge anxieties in many for even stepping out the door now and I’m finding more and more people coming to me for techniques to manage anxiety attacks and fears and phobias, thanks to the current situation.

What happened to empathy, kindness and patience?

It’s a highly stressful time for us all, but try never to forget that we’re in it together and can help each other through it. Judging others before you know their story, and assuming the worst of them will help nobody, but in fact, potentially, cause a lot of damage.

Please think and be kind.

Consider the fact that for most of us, every decision is very carefully thought out right now in the bigger picture. Not recklessly, or without concern for the current situation and everybody around us. Sleepless nights go into every action, for fear of getting it wrong.

It’s not easy resuming “normal life” with so much judgement out there. Advice is conflicting, the pressure is on to “do your bit” to contain the virus, yet we are told to live, and know we have to create a ‘new normal’.

Returning to work or re-opening your business is no easy task, with all eyes on you, ready to negatively judge if you don’t get it exactly right!!

But what is right? We only have guidelines to go by, and they are ever changing. It’s all a learning curve, and one we may get wrong at times. One we hope and pray we don’t for the sake of others, but for most of us, nothing is done in haste or without careful consideration for all, so please don’t forget the lessons we once learnt from this experience.

Support each other. Be kind to one another. Be considerate. Be appreciative and know that WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER and we can’t condemn or assume the worst of the many, for the sake of the few.
Remember to lift each other up.
