October Activities at Lou's
October is one of my favourite months. As Autumn kicks in, the sunshine is still around, providing opportunities for lots of time outside for visits to parks, woodland and National Trust Gardens.
We've made the most of these drier days and used these experiences to create some beautiful artwork and bake some delicious Autumn goodies. Embracing Hygge, we now take the time to slow down and take things at a little more relaxed pace, as we head into Winter and look forward to the Festive Season 🎄

Last week we celebrated the First Day of Spring with a visit to Rudyard Kipling's former home, Batemans. We read our Jungle Book story while having morning snack, took a peek inside the house to see lots of old and unusual items and explored the garden. Then we enjoyed our first picnic lunch of the year and had fun running and climbing in the play area.

We visited the wonderful Almond Field in the village which is a wonderful nature space. There's nothing better for young children than to be outside playing whilst surrounded by the natural world. They used all their senses - touch, listening, smell, looking and taste while exploring the area. It was a wonderful morning 🥰

This week we visited the Sussex Christmas Barn to choose some tree decorations for our Playroom Tree. We enjoyed our story 'Pick a Pine Tree' while enjoying some hot chocolate and a shared cookie at the Barn. The children have enjoyed decorating their tree and look forward to 3pm when the lights come on each day. Our potted tree was purchased from the Christmas Barn last year so it's been repotted and recycled. Hopefully it will be enjoyed for many years to come. Merry Christmas!
