Old Vicarage School

Today we celebrated our 100th day of school with a brilliant maths-filled adventure led by our fantastic Maths department and amazing Maths Prefects, Ella and Dina.

From our youngest girls enjoying number spotting, to Years 5&6 challenging themselves to discover how many different ways they can calculate the number 100 - the whole school embraced the excitement of numbers!

We even dressed up for the occasion and collaborated with friends to create the number 100.

Here’s to the next 100 days of learning!

What a perfect final day! ✨

After a relaxed breakfast, we headed to Niagara Falls where the misty clouds made it feel even more magical. The Journey Behind the Falls was unforgettable — the sheer power of the water (and ice!) was incredible.

Beyond the slopes, the souvenir shop proved just as popular as the ski runs! Then the skies cleared, blue skies appeared, and we were even treated to a rainbow 🌈

From the lively, colourful buzz of the town to a chilled lunch and a peaceful stroll through picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake, it was the perfect mix of fun and calm.

Now we’re at the gate — tired, happy, full of memories, and ready to see everyone tomorrow. What a truly unforgettable trip! 💙

The girls had an amazing time learning about the festivities celebrated across different countries and loved designing their own vibrant masks 🎭

Your time, creativity, and enthusiasm made the day truly special.

Another fabulous day on the slopes! ⛷️❄️
Both groups skied brilliantly today — conquering new runs and cruising down some firm favourites with confidence.

We’re so impressed with those who are new to skiing for their resilience, determination, and amazing progress. And we couldn’t be prouder of everyone’s achievements as we reach the halfway point of the trip! 💪✨

This evening the girls are enjoying a well-earned movie night to rest those tired legs 🎬, with dinner up next and then an early night to recharge.

Light snow is forecast for tomorrow, but we know these girls will take it all in their stride and keep shining on the slopes! 🌨️

It was so good to get out early and make the most of the sunshine today! ☀️

We started with a warm-up run (or two!) on the nursery slope before both groups headed up into the mountains. For some of the girls, taking the gondola and riding the chair lifts was a brand-new experience — and they absolutely smashed it! Their confidence has grown so much already. 🎿✨

After lunch in the base café, our wonderful ski instructors surprised everyone with a real Canadian treat — maple syrup taffy at the local sugar shack! A perfect sweet ending to an amazing day on the slopes. 🍁

So proud of how brilliantly everyone is doing — what a day!

✨ Bienvenue à Chez Le Vieux Presbytère! ✨

Last night, our Year 5 parents were transported to Paris as the Old Vicarage School hall was transformed into the charming French restaurant Chez Le Vieux Presbytère.

Guests were welcomed with baguette, camembert and sundries, served by our fantastic team of Year 5 waiters, before enjoying an evening of entertainment performed entirely in French. From Piaf to pom poms, a mischievous talking dog, rogue robots, a grumpy shoe-shop assistant, Cinderella and more — the girls treated us to a wonderfully varied programme of sketches and songs.

We were especially delighted to have several native French speakers in the audience who praised the girls’ excellent pronunciation. The audience laughed at their brilliant comic timing and were truly moved by their beautiful singing. The Year 5 girls should be incredibly proud of the hours of dedication and hard work that went into learning their parts and bringing them so vividly to life.

✨ The Year 3 girls truly shone in their wonderful performance of Cinderella and Rockerfella! ✨

From the moment they stepped onto the stage, they performed with confidence, energy and enthusiasm, embracing every opportunity to showcase their talents. They worked incredibly hard in rehearsals, showing real dedication and perseverance as they learned their lines, songs and choreography.

Their singing was clear and expressive, filling the room with joy, and their growing self-belief was evident for all to see. It was a pleasure to watch them support one another and perform so beautifully as a team.

We are immensely proud of each and every one of them — what a fantastic achievement! 🌟👏 We hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did.

We’re looking forward to welcoming many of our parents this evening at Tower House for the OVS Future Schools event. We’re delighted to be joined by some of the UK’s leading day and boarding schools, alongside expert advice from our education partners. Definitely an evening not to be missed!
