Ysgol Y Grango is delighted to announce its best ever GCSE results and a significant increase in the number of the highest grades being awarded across all subjects. 🤩
There are many success stories to celebrate this year with our GCSE outcomes. They evidence the hard work of our pupils, teachers and parents.
Key highlights include:
100% of students achieved higher grades in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. 👩🔬🧑🔬
Two thirds of the cohort achieved higher grade passes in English, History, Geography, Art, Digital Photography and Welsh, including strong examination performance across all areas of the curriculum. 📝📜🎨📸🏴🧭
A notably high number of the top A* – A grades. To name just a few: there are two learners who achieved 12 A*-A grades! This is closely followed by the success of a learner achieving 11 A*-A grades, two students achieving 8 A*-A grades, and many others. 🌟
These fantastic results have enabled students to enrol on their first choice sixth form courses, with others securing apprenticeships, or places at college.
The students’ accomplishments are a testament to their hard work, diligence and resilience during their time at high school. Students have benefited from the support of parents, teachers and the school community. The caring and nurturing learning environment it provides allows its young people to achieve their very best outcomes.
Head teacher Ms Victoria Brown said, “We are extremely proud of all our students’ examination results, which are a direct consequence of a consistent drive to improve throughout their time at Ysgol Y Grango. I would like to pay tribute to our committed staff, and Governors who have helped our students and given their time generously to ensure that each and every one of them could meet their potential. Furthermore, I would like to say thank you to our parents and carers for the support they have provided throughout the time their children have been at Ysgol Y Grango.”
Pastoral Key stage 4 Lead Mr Chris Cathrall stated, “This determined and gifted year group have been a privilege to work with. The fantastic GCSE results they have produced is due to their determined approach and unwavering level of dedication to their studies. We wish The Class of 2026 the best of luck as they move on to new and exciting opportunities and thank all of our parents and carers for their cooperation and commitment over the past five years.”
Councillor Stella Matthews Chair of Governors at Ysgol Y Grango commented, “The governing body would like to state their pride and delight in the achievements of all our students, staff and parents with this year’s examination results. These outcomes demonstrate what can be achieved when all parties work together for the benefit of our young people.
