🚲💙 BIKE SAFETY 💜🚲

Some of our pupils enjoyed a fantastic bike safety session today, developing their confidence and learning important skills to help them stay safe when cycling on and around our roads.

A great practical session, with pupils engaging brilliantly throughout! 👏

💚 Macmillan Morning 💚
A huge thank you to all our wonderful staff, parents and pupils for your incredibly generous donations for our Macmillan Morning on Friday 25th September! ☕🍰
We are delighted to share that, together, we have raised over £130 for Macmillan Cancer Support. What a fantastic achievement! 👏💚
A huge well done to our Student Leadership Team, School Council and Prefects, who did an amazing job organising and supporting the morning. Your hard work, enthusiasm and teamwork helped make the event such a success! 🌟

💙💜 KINDNESS & EMPATHY IN ACTION 💜💙

We were incredibly proud of some of our pupils today as they explored kindness, empathy and the importance of understanding how others feel.

During LFBE (Language for Behaviour & Emotions), pupils discussed the different ways we can show kindness to others, as well as what it means to be kind to ourselves. This led to some thoughtful, open and honest conversations, with pupils confidently sharing their own ideas and experiences.

They then put this learning into action during Move to Improve, an intervention which uses physical activity and sport to develop wider skills including teamwork, communication, leadership and resilience.

The group were challenged to create and perform a scene exploring bullying, kindness and empathy. With very little adult input, the pupils developed the scenario themselves, considering how each character might feel and, most importantly, how they could change the outcome.

By the end of the scene, they had brought the group together, challenged the unkind behaviour and demonstrated how empathy, inclusion and friendship could make a difference. ❤️

A special mention must go to Eleri, who very kindly volunteered to take on the difficult role of the pupil experiencing the unkind behaviour!

It was wonderful to see the pupils working together, listening to one another and taking real ownership of their learning. They were especially pleased to have members of the ALN team join them to watch their final performance!

A fantastic example of our pupils demonstrating the values we want to see every day at Ysgol y Grango: kindness, respect and resilience.

A huge congratulations to Lewis Young, who was recently one of a group of talented players selected to represent North Wales at the Welsh Schoolboy trials! 👏⚽️

We are incredibly proud of Lewis, who has shown fantastic determination, resilience and a positive attitude, working hard in training to earn this brilliant opportunity. 💪💙💜

What a fantastic achievement and a wonderful example of where hard work and commitment can take you!

We wish Lewis every success for the future and can’t wait to see what comes next.
