It’s hard to express how much joy it brings us, to allow the children to have free flow outdoor play after having two years of limited outdoor play ☺️

We loved our walks and visits to the early years garden, but it’s not the same and getting out and exploring every day 🥰 it’s actually quite difficult to keep them inside now 🤣

We love being outside 🌲

We have had such an exciting start to the new term!

We have now moved to the other side of the school and have a lovely new outdoor area AND a natural area to play in. Our fence is almost complete 🙏🏻

Flying start Childcare has now been expanded and all two year olds should get an offer for 12.5 hours a week, after their second birthday until they are 3. You should receive a letter in the post.

Families across Rhondda Cynon Taf can now benefit from expanded Welsh Government-funded childcare for two-year-olds, helping more children access high-quality early years education and giving parents and carers extra support with childcare.

From today, all parents and carers of children aged two in Rhondda Cynon Taf will be offered up to 12.5 hours of Welsh Government-funded childcare each week, starting from the term after their child's second birthday until the term in which they turn three. The offer is available regardless of where families live within the county borough.

The expansion is part of the Welsh Government's commitment to creating a simpler childcare system that is easier for families to understand and access, while continuing to provide high-quality support for children's development. The immediate priority is to ensure all two-year-olds in Wales are offered 12.5 hours of funded childcare by 31 March 2027.

The childcare will be provided through approved childcare settings across Rhondda Cynon Taf, giving children opportunities to learn, play and develop important skills in a supportive environment.

Families who are eligible will receive a letter inviting them to apply. Parents and carers who believe their child may be eligible but have not yet received a letter can contact [email protected] for further information.
