Are there any current or prospective GCSE Maths tutors who would be interested in helping me test a new tutoring software tool I’ve been building?
I’m a local GCSE Maths tutor and, over the past year, I’ve been developing a software platform designed to help me deliver more effective lessons and support my students more consistently between sessions, not just during the one hour per week we meet.
It covers all exam boards and was built around the GCSE Maths curriculum as a whole, mapping topics, skills and prerequisites so tutors can quickly see what a student is struggling with, what they need next, and how to get them there efficiently.
Alongside helping tutors plan lessons and choose appropriate questions and resources, it also gives students clearer direction on what to practise between sessions, so they can work more independently and make better use of their time outside tutoring.
The system uses structured topic progression, confidence tracking, and analysis of past GCSE exam questions to help prioritise the areas that are most likely to improve a student’s grade.
I’m now at the stage where I need to move beyond building it on my own and see how real tutors actually use it in practice and how user friendly it is for new tutors too.
I’m looking for 2–3 people (this could be experienced tutors, or people just starting out and thinking about tutoring as a side income, for example university students) who would be interested in becoming early testers of the software and gaining a generous income as a self-employed tutor.
I’d be especially interested in people who are still shaping how they tutor, as the tool is designed to make it easier to get started, plan lessons, and build confidence in what to teach next.
As a tester, you would get:
• full free access to the platform during the testing period
• a personal walkthrough and setup support from me
• direct input into what gets built next (you’ll be shaping the product)
• priority access to new features as they’re released
• fast support if you need specific resources or features added
In return, I’d ask for:
• an initial look through the platform
• honest feedback on anything unclear, missing or unhelpful
• ideally trying it with one or two of your students over a few weeks
• helping me understand how it fits (or doesn’t fit) into real tutoring sessions
You don’t need to be technical, and you don’t need to change how you already tutor — I’m interested in how it fits into your existing approach, not replacing it.
This is very much a software tool I’m building independently, not a tutoring service or organisation you’d be working for.
If you’re interested, please comment below or send me a message and I’ll share more details. Thanks!
