Mental health training, built from real moments, so you know what to do when it counts.

31/07/2026

Monday.

That's when the Student Paramedic Masterclass Series goes live, and we're holding the detail back until then. Worth the wait, we think.

But here's what we'll share now...

Six sessions, one evening a month from September through to February, co-hosted by Changing Minds Training and PocketClinician.

Practical teaching, real-world examples, evidence-based discussion, and plenty of room to challenge the misconceptions that build up around mental health emergencies.

Built for student paramedics, newly qualified paramedics, ambulance clinicians, associate ambulance practitioners, emergency care assistants, and anyone who wants more confidence managing mental health presentations in pre-hospital care.

Full line-up, dates and pricing on Monday morning.

Comment INTERESTED and we'll make sure it reaches you first.

Which part of a mental health call do you find hardest to feel prepared for?

We've been building this quietly for months with PocketClinician, and next week it goes live.

Six masterclasses. One evening a month, September through to February.

Built for student paramedics, newly qualified paramedics, ambulance clinicians, associate ambulance practitioners, emergency care assistants, and anyone wanting more confidence managing mental health presentations in pre-hospital care.

Six topics, covering the calls that get the least airtime in training and carry the most weight in practice. We're not naming them yet. What we will say is that the last one is about you, not your patients, and that it's there on purpose.

The reason we built it together is simple.

Tommy Knight is a practising UK paramedic and the founder of PocketClinician, one of the UK's leading education platforms for student paramedics and ambulance clinicians, and he's spent years helping learners bridge the gap between university and clinical practice.

Olivia-Louise Hamilton specialises in taking complex and emotive subjects and turning them into sessions people can actually use, drawing on a background across emergency services, psychiatric care and frontline support work alongside her own lived experience. Clinical reality and mental health expertise, in the same room.

This is the series we've wanted to run for a long time, because mental health calls are a huge part of the job and consistently the ones people tell us they feel least prepared for.

Six evenings won't fix a stretched system, but they will send you into those calls with more language, more confidence, and fewer of the misconceptions that get in the way.

Expect practical teaching, real-world examples, evidence-based discussion, and plenty of room to challenge the assumptions that build up around mental health emergencies.

Dates, learning outcomes and pricing all go live next week.

Comment INTERESTED and we'll send them to you first.

What would you want a series like this to cover?

Building genuine neuroinclusive practice into an organisation takes more than a single awareness session, and that's exactly the gap our Thrive Neurodiversity & Mental Health Neurodiversity Champion workshop is designed to fill.

This workshop equips a network of internal champions with a deeper understanding of neurodivergent experiences at work and practical ways to support colleagues, adapt processes, and challenge assumptions that often go unquestioned.

Organisations that invest in champions rather than one-off training tend to see the culture shift stick.

Comment CHAMPION and we'll send you our next available dates.

What's one neuroinclusive change your organisation has made that's had a real impact?

Change is one of the few constants in modern workplaces. Restructures, new systems, shifting teams, and yet very few organisations train people specifically in how to cope with it.

Our Coping with Change masterclass gives teams practical tools for navigating uncertainty, recognising when change is tipping into overwhelm, and building genuine resilience rather than just pushing through.

It's a session we see booked again and again because it gives people language for what they're already feeling.

Comment CHANGE and we'll send you the details.

What's one piece of change at work that's tested you recently?

Anxiety is a normal part of being human and shows up in the workplace far more often than most organisations realise, quietly affecting focus, decision-making, and how comfortable people feel speaking up.

But knowing where everyday anxiety ends and a clinically recognised anxiety disorder begins isn't always obvious, and that uncertainty holds a lot of people back from getting support, or offering it.

Our Understanding Anxiety masterclass explores anxiety as a normal human experience, what it is, what it isn't, and why it matters both at home and in the workplace. We cover how to recognise the signs and symptoms across physical, emotional, cognitive, and behavioural domains, and build a practical toolkit of coping strategies for the moment and over time. People leave with greater self-awareness, renewed confidence in supporting themselves and others, and clear signposting to further help when it's needed.

Comment ANXIETY and we'll send you the details.

What's one workplace adjustment, big or small, that's made a real difference for you or someone you work with?

Some feedback we're really proud of from our recent Su***de First Aid course.

Every learner rated the session 5 out of 5, and the comments meant even more than the score. People told us the course was delivered with care and compassion, that it felt safe and considerate throughout, and that regular wellbeing check-ins were built into a topic that carries real weight. One learner said the reflection questions kept them alert and engaged from start to finish.

That's exactly what we set out to do: give people the knowledge and confidence to support someone who may be struggling, while never losing sight of the wellbeing of the people sitting in the room learning it.

Our second-half-of-year dates are being finalised, and we want the people who care about this most to hear first.

How confident does your team feel right now having a conversation about su***de with someone who's struggling?

Comment WAITLIST and we'll make sure you're one of the first to know.

Every organisation is different, and off-the-shelf training doesn't always fit the shape of a real team. That's exactly why bespoke training sits at the heart of what we do at Changing Minds Training.

We've built tailored sessions around everything from shift patterns and high-pressure environments to specific policy changes and team dynamics that a standard course simply wouldn't reach. Whether you're an HR team wanting something built entirely around your workforce, or a general workforce group with a particular challenge to work through, we start with a conversation about what's actually going on, not a fixed template.

Comment BESPOKE and we'll be in touch to talk through what your team needs.

What's one training experience that felt like it was built specifically for your team, rather than just delivered to it?

Between day one and day two of one of our recent Mental Health First Aid courses, a learner told us something that has genuinely stayed with us since.

He'd noticed his neighbour sitting in his car in the driveway, far longer than felt normal, and something about his body language just felt off.

The old him, the version of him from a week earlier, would have walked straight past. He wouldn't have noticed, and he wouldn't have felt it was his place to say a word. But this time he walked over and asked, "are you okay mate?"

His neighbour was overwhelmed. He was struggling, quietly, behind his own front door, and he was so grateful that someone finally asked.

That's the moment we train people for. Not the dramatic, obvious crisis, but the quiet ones happening on ordinary driveways, in ordinary cars, that most of us are too unsure or too unaware to notice.

Noticing is a skill. Knowing you're allowed to ask is another. MHFA training gives people both, and it can be the reason someone you love, or someone you've never met, doesn't struggle alone.

Please don't wait until you wish you'd known what to do.

Our next online public course runs 28-31 July, 9:30am-1:30pm, and places are going fast.

Book before 31 July with code SBN0724 for a 2-for-1 offer, and bring someone with you, so you can both learn what to look for and how to ask.

We loved delivering this session for the team at Right at Home Reigate & Crawley!

Our one-hour masterclasses are designed to be interactive, engaging, and genuinely useful.

Up to 300 learners can join a single session, and every learner walks away with a takeaway resource including a session summary and additional resources, plus access to a 30-day recording so they can revisit the content in their own time.

Topics span everything from supporting mental health and burnout prevention, to men's mental health, managing menopause, resilience mastery, and more, so you can choose what's most relevant to your organisation or align sessions with key awareness days throughout the year.

Not sure if it's right for your team? We also offer 30-minute tasters so you can get a feel for the format before committing.

If you'd like to find out more about bringing a masterclass to your organisation, send us a message!

"MHFAiders can provide therapy."
"Only HR needs this."
"Talking about su***de makes it more likely."

None of these are true, and they're the exact reasons good training gets put off year after year.

MHFA isn't therapy. It's not just for managers. And the evidence is clear: talking about su***de doesn't increase risk, it opens the door.

Think you already know what MHFA is? You might be surprised.

Our next public course runs across 4 half-days: 28–31 July, 09:30–13:30, online.

Spaces are limited, early booking is advised.
