Last week Year 5 have been engaging with some fantastic hands on experiments to help develop their understanding of 'Invisible Forces.'
This includes forces such as gravity, magnetism, buoyancy and many more! Students thoroughly enjoyed exploring the reactions with magnets towards different materials and their north and south poles. They enjoyed feeling the strength to a magnets pull and experimenting how much this worked depending on materials and their thickness, as well as the power to their repelling of the same poles. A firm favourite this week was also exploring static electricity and how we can fell and visualise this invisible force at work.

🌟 Year 8 Stratford-upon-Avon Trip 🌟
Our Year 8 students had a fantastic day exploring Stratford-upon-Avon on Wednesday, visiting the Mad Museum, Shakespeare’s Schoolroom, and the Butterfly Farm 🦋
At the Mad Museum, students worked brilliantly together, competing to build the longest marble run or the largest gear system – a great mix of creativity, problem-solving, and fun!
In Shakespeare’s Schoolroom, pupils stepped back in time to experience what school life was like in William Shakespeare’s day. They even had the opportunity to try writing with a quill and ink – a real challenge, but one they embraced with enthusiasm! ✍️
At the Butterfly Farm, students explored the life cycle of butterflies and experienced these beautiful creatures up close. Many even had butterflies land on them, and it was lovely to see how calm and careful everyone was in handling them.
We are incredibly proud of how well Year 8 represented CHMS throughout the day – their behaviour, curiosity, and engagement were excellent.

Year 6 are officially in World Cup fever! Students have been randomly allocated a country to represent at the football World Cup and have enjoyed creating a display as part of our Thrive sessions to look at different countries and celebrate differences and community!

A huge thank you to all pupils and families who submitted an entry for the Volcanic Homework Project. Today, several classes had the exciting opportunity to showcase their impressive 3D volcano models to their peers and witness a series of spectacular eruptions. The event brought our learning to life in a memorable and engaging way, helping children make meaningful connections across our topics while celebrating their creativity and hard work. We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and effort shown by everyone involved.

We wish all of our families a wonderful, restful, and enjoyable half-term break.

Well done to our KS2 Netball team who represented Church Hill brilliantly at the district Netball competition. The girls faced some extremely well drilled teams and did not stop battling.
