🌟 Woodley 2026 Dance Festival 🌟
Today, some of our fantastic Year 1 children represented Willow Bank Infant School at the Woodley 2026 Dance Festival, performing in front of other local schools! We could not be prouder ✨
Our children performed with such enthusiasm, confidence and energy, truly standing out from the crowd! Their smiles lit up the stage! 💃🕺🏼
When they returned to school, they treated the rest of our Willow Bank Infants community to another wonderful performance, and we absolutely loved it! What super star performers we have here at Willow Bank! ⭐️

🐥 “Have they gone? 👀”
🐥 “No little humans yelling, ‘It’s looking at me’ and ‘it’s so cute and fluffy’ or ‘can I hold them yet?!’”
🐥 “Finally… peace and quiet. Just me and my thoughts…”

🥚🐣 Special delivery! 🥚🐣
We’re egg-cited to share that 10 chicken eggs have arrived today in EYFS and are now safe and snug in their incubator. The children have loved observing them today, asking lots of thoughtful questions and already beginning to learn about the wonders of life cycles. We can’t wait to watch the changes that happen over time as we care for our tiny new arrivals.
Stay tuned for updates… something magical is about to happen! 👀🐥

🕵🏼✨ Mystery in EYFS! ✨🕵🏻
On Monday morning, we arrived at Willow Bank Infant School to discover something very unusual in our EYFS classroom… 2 mystery eggs had appeared! 😮 They were certainly not ordinary - bright green with red spots!
A few days later, we couldn’t believe our eyes… they had hatched! But the creatures inside were nowhere to be seen… 👀
Our EYFS children have absolutely loved trying to solve this exciting mystery. They have been making careful predictions about what might have come out of the eggs, linking their ideas to their prior learning about animals that lay eggs.
Now we need YOUR help! If anyone in our local community spots 2 unusual creatures nearby, please let our EYFS children and staff know as soon as possible… the mystery continues! 🔍🕵🏼

🌍🌱 World Earth Day 🌱🌍
Today at Willow Bank Infants we are celebrating World Earth Day! World Earth Day is a global event held on 22nd April each year, dedicated to raising awareness of environmental issues and driving action to protect our beautiful planet.
The 2026 theme, ‘Our Power, Our Planet’, is all about how environmental progress is built through the smaller decisions we make every day, not just big, sweeping policies ✨

🐣🐰 🐛A huge well done to our amazing EYFS children for their beautiful Spring Easter show! 🐛🐰🐣
We were so proud to see every single child take part with such confidence and enthusiasm. Their hard work and dedication shone through as they performed their spoken lines and sang their songs so brilliantly.
It was a truly special show and each and every one of them should feel proud to have been part of it 🌷✨

This term our EYFS children have launched straight into their new topic ‘Traditional Tales’ and what an exciting start it’s been!📚✨
At the beginning of term, the children were full of curiosity when they spotted a mysterious girl wearing a red cloak and carrying a basket filled with flowers and cakes, running across the playground. After searching the EYFS garden for clues, the children began to wonder… could Little Red Riding Hood have been at Willow Bank Infants? 🔴 Our learning took another thrilling turn when we received a letter in the post from Granny, asking the children for help to find the Big Bad Wolf! 🐺 This week, the children have been busy creating their very own ‘Wanted’ posters, which we have displayed around school in the hope other children and members of our Willow Bank community will help us track him down. So far… the wolf has not been found, although the children were extremely excited to discover mysterious paw prints in the EYFS garden! 🐾🐾🐾
