🌱Nature delivered the most exciting learning opportunity in the garden today! 🐛✨

Spotting a tiny caterpillar on a leaf instantly turned into a hands-on science lesson. We brought out The Very Hungry Caterpillar for storytime on the grass, and have been singing "There's a little caterpillar on a leaf..." on repeat. 🎶🍃

It’s a gentle reminder that the very best learning happens spontaneously, in real life, when following children's interests!

🍕 Pizza lunch! 🍕

Today, we made quick flatbread pizzas with a super simple dough: just yogurt, flour, and baking soda! 🍕

We paired them with a fresh, crunchy side of carrots, apples, and a cucumber harvested straight from our own plant. 🥒

Nothing beats homegrown veggies!

Santa take note! A few of Evie's Friends would love to find this in their stocking this year! 🧑‍🎄

Building Confidence for Big School! ✨

School readiness is in full swing at Evie's Friends! Today, we practiced recognizing our names, a fantastic skill to help the children feel confident and independent when they start school in September. 🌟

🥔 From Soil to Salad 🥗

Evie's Friends have been patiently caring for our potato plants for weeks and today they finally got to harvest them!

There is nothing quite like the excitement of digging in the dirt and finding "buried treasure!"

After carefully digging them out of the soil we scrubbed the dirt off. Once they were cleaned and cooked we made them into a delicious salad.

Not only did this activity build self-esteem, motor skills and communication. Getting children involved in growing and cooking encourages even the most reluctant eaters to try new foods.

Do you grow any veggies at home? We'd love to hear what your little ones enjoy helping with in the kitchen! 👇

☀️⛱️ Fun in the Sun🍦💦

We had a great morning with Doodle Dots Childcare this morning who invited us to their outdoor learning adventure at Wellington Country Park .

We beat the heat in the splash park, got creative experimenting with space, shape, and measure in the sandpit, and wrapped it all up with a lovely picnic before heading home. 🥪☀️

🌱🐞 Outdoor learning 🦋🌻

Today’s walk was packed with fresh air and learning opportunities. While observing a flock of sheep, Evie's Friends practiced their vocabulary, learning that young sheep are called lambs and the adult females are called Ewes. 🐑

We also turned our walk into a nature hunt, collecting twigs, bark, and pinecones. Which we used to build a bug hotel, promoting early science and care for wildlife. 🐜✨

We wrapped up our morning with a lovely stop at the local tearoom, for a healthy snack and a refreshing drink. 🍎

Looking for a safe nurturing environment for your little one? We have spaces available from September. Please get in touch for a chat. ☎️
