There’s something extra special about sharing music with grandparents! 💕🎶

We love welcoming grandparents into our Jolly Melodies classes - whether they come along every week, join us for a special session, or simply enjoy singing and dancing together at home.

From joining in with the actions and playing instruments, to watching little faces light up as they explore music, these are the moments that create special memories to treasure. 🥰

Music really is something that can bring generations together - and we love seeing grandparents making memories with their little ones at Jolly Melodies! 🎵❤️

So today, we’re celebrating all the wonderful grandparents who sing, dance, play, cuddle, encourage and make their grandchildren smile.

🥁 5 things your toddler learns when they make A LOT of noise! 🔊

If your toddler has discovered that EVERYTHING makes a noise when you bang it… welcome to the percussion phase! 😂

But that enthusiastic banging, tapping, shaking and drumming isn't just noise. There's actually a LOT of learning going on!

🎵 1. LOUD & SOFT
They're beginning to discover that they can control how much sound they make - and that the same instrument can sound very different depending on how they play it.

👂 2. LISTENING
When we ask our toddlers to make a sound and then stop… they're practising listening, attention and responding to instructions.

🖐️ 3. COORDINATION
Picking up, holding, shaking, tapping and hitting instruments helps develop hand-eye coordination and control.

🧠 4. CAUSE & EFFECT
“I hit it… and it makes a sound!”
They're learning that their actions can create a result - a really important early learning concept.

🎶 5. MUSICAL CONFIDENCE
They're discovering that THEY can make music! There isn't always a right or wrong way to explore a sound, and that freedom helps build confidence and creativity.

And that's exactly what we're exploring in Jolly Toddlers this term - LOUD & SOFT! 🔊🤫

So the next time your toddler is enthusiastically drumming on a saucepan, banging their toys together or experimenting with just how loud they can possibly be…

Remember - they're not just making noise.

They're learning through music. ❤️

🏠🎶 THIS IS MY LITTLE HOUSE! 🎶🏠

One of our action songs in Jolly Toddlers this term - and already a firm favourite! ❤️

We love watching the children pick this one up so quickly. Before long, they're joining in with the actions, and our older toddlers are often singing along too! 🥰

It's such a lovely example of how repetition, actions and music help little ones build confidence and join in at their own pace. 🎵🏠
