Black History Month 2026: Honouring Our Communities

This October, we are proud to celebrate Black History Month through the theme "Honouring Our Communities."

At High Close School, we recognise the rich contributions that Black individuals, families and communities have made to society, both historically and today. Throughout the month, our young people will explore inspiring stories, achievements, cultures and traditions that help shape our diverse world.

By celebrating different experiences and perspectives, we help our young people develop respect, understanding and a strong sense of belonging.

We have already posted about the grounds and the weather today but the young people have really enjoyed the unexpected snow and we had a visitor to site (a little fox) who took shelter under the trees through the worst flurries!
