👫 Year 6 Buddies 👫

The children in Reception have greatly enjoyed spending time with the Year 6 pupils during play sessions. This experience has been highly beneficial for the Reception children, helping them to build confidence and form new friendships. One child shared, “We were nervous at the start, but happy now because we can play with them,” while another commented, “Playing with the Year 6s is the best part of the day.”

The Year 6 pupils have also enjoyed visiting Reception and leading a variety of circle games and activities. Reflecting on the experience, one pupil said, “We have been able to make some friends and been given the chance to play with them, which we wouldn’t normally be able to do because we are in different schools. It’s so fun.” Another added, “It’s really fun because they like to play the same games as us, such as tag. We’ve been able to adapt the games to their level so that we can all play together, and it’s been great fun.”

A team of volunteers from Veolia came to school today and with Mrs Irons cleared brambles and created a new raised bed in the Junior School hub garden.

A huge thanks to Anne and Matthew from Veolia for their hard work in hot conditions.

Thanks also to the team from Veolia who collected the garden waste and delivered a huge trailer full of soil improver.
