🌟 A huge well done to our top tutor groups of the week - a sterling job in terms of attendance! 🌟

This week, River students have faced their first Athletics fixtures of the year.

There were many great performances but some notable commendations:

For the girls:
🌟Shakira achieved 🥈 in the shot put with 6.65m
🌟Nadia gained 🥈 in the javelin with 14.2m

And the boys:
🌟Nabil sped through the 75m race to gain a 🥈 with 10.2s
🌟Benas showed stealth to achieve a 🥈 in the 600m with 1m45s
🌟Ezra powered through the high jump and achieved 🥈 with 1.35m
🌟Maks gained a 🥈 in the shot put with 9.59m
🌟Ethan T took home a 🥈with 4.05m in the long jump

🌟River students face, and win, the challenge!🌟

Last term, 127 River students participated in the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge. A national competition, where roughly 50% of students are expected to gain a certificate.

We are delighted to announce that of the 127, a mighty 91 students received certificates for Bronze, Silver and Gold level results, with 5 students invited to compete in the next Kangaroo Round.

That’s a whopping 72% of entries.

These outcomes are commendable, and demonstrate the that can be achieved through daily habits and . 💪

🌟🌟🌟Year 8 KPMG Careers Workshop🌟🌟🌟

Today, Mrs Billingham and Ms Chan had the pleasure of taking 26 Year 8 students to KPMG Reading Offices, where they participated in a Careers Workshop led by The Talent Foundry, found out more about what it means to work at KPMG, and enjoyed a tour of the building.

Staff were ‘blown away’ by the professionalism of River students, concluding that they were ‘absolutely fantastic’. 💪

We’ve hit a new milestone this term: EVERY week, River Academy students have held the top spot across the Sparx Reader, Maths and Science platforms.

In more cases than not, this has been a 100% completion rate. And that’s first place out of some 2,650 schools! What an achievement!
