π± At the allotment this week, we spent time tending to our beans, sweetcorn, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes (growing happily in pots!) and onions.
A huge thank you to members of our school community who kindly kept an eye on the allotment and watered the plants during the recent hot spell. Your support has helped our crops continue to thrive, and we are very grateful.
The children are very proud of their plot and we all can't wait to see how everything grows over the coming weeks! π½π₯π

We are so proud of our Year 6 children for all their hard work and determination during SATs week last week! π
Every year 6 pupil was awarded a Pride of Purley βWisdomβ certificate in recognition of their resilience and effort. To celebrate, they enjoyed a lovely afternoon at the park with their Year 5 classmates, topped off with a well-earned ice cream π¦
A huge thank you to all the families and teachers who supported and encouraged the children (not just this week!) β we truly appreciate it! π

As part of our DT project on healthy eating, Falcon were challenged to combine food groups to create a baked rice dish. With Miss Maisy and Mr Thomas taking on the roles of Master chef supervisors the children enthusiastically experimented with ingredients. Some of the children were obviously already very able chefs, whereas others learned how to hold a sharp knife and chop up food safely. The difference between a bulb and clove of garlic and how stock can make things salty were important points of learning as well as food hygiene and safety. Time constraints meant we only had the chance to taste one groups food in school, but lots of constructive and appreciative comments were shared. We very much hope that everyone at home enjoyed their baked rice too,
